Not Kotaro lashing out at Satoko and threatening to kill the man she loves and then wondering why she thinks of him as a "villain" (which she does not, he's just projecting because he's self aware). My brother in Christ, you are acting way out of line.
I honestly don't like Shinpei all that much either, he's a ticking bomb, very unstable, very obsessive and possessive over Satoko, but if there's something he has on his side, it's that at least he treats Satoko like a person.
I feel like Kotaro is very condescending towards her. I would venture to say he's kind of ableist. He acts like she should just stay put and do nothing, driving home the point everyone in her household made to make her feel useless and like a burden, like she can't live her life at all and she should be just a doll behind a glass cage to be admired. Idk. I don't doubt he loves her, but his kind of love seems very constricting to me.
On the other hand, Shinpei treats Satoko like a normal person, while still making her feel special (as in, he's interested romantically), he doesn't thread carefully around her and undermines her. I see how that, which should be the norm, somehow ended up dazzling Satoko, who has not experienced that kind of treatment before.
I sincerely hope Satoko can find her happiness, regardless of how that looks for her.
