I like this chapter. Jaekyung is still an asshole but now cares for Kim Dan, but he doesn't know how to express it properly whether it is through his jealousy or overprotectiveness. Kim Dan on the other hand is heavily traumatised and in pain. They did not brush his pain off and make him fall in love with Jaekyung. Jaekyung still has a lot of ways to go to make up for everything snd I hope that is how the author is making it.
Okay I judged this based on the cover art and it looked like any generic smut out there.
BUT the dumb blonde boy is quite cute and endearing to read. I am still 2 chapters in tho

Why is the author really taking their time with Jaekyung? I mean I know this was supposed to be some sort of progress, but literally a few pages before he threw water at Kim Dan. Well I can sort of understand the frustration but come on, man. Do better, Jaekyung.
Y'know I see what the author is doing showing us that Jaekyung is emotionally stunted and is still has no grasp of his true feelings, but damn. Hope he just comes to realisation already. Kim Dan needs some loving. That and I want to see him demeaning him a bit less.
I meant to thumbs up ur post but my fat fingers . I totally agree, I definitely think he’s emotionally stunted and that’s why he’s so harsh and mean. I think although a lot of other people might not agree, I think him taking care of Dan in his own way will help him realize he needs to change and do better. Not just with Dan but with everyone.
Getting back to this series. This is such a refreshing way of dealing with romance. Often times, we get series that plays with rhe tension between the couple all until it boils down to a confession..
But the author prioritized growth and depicting a much more realistic view of youth.
It is easier to just get Shima to confess and all, but him knowing our cute Mitsumi might probably not be ready for it, not to mention he himself is still working on his craft, adds depth to not only these characters but their budding relationship. We know now, that it isn't just a passing fancy between them, but something more that developed from pure friendship.
Another thing I liked with the recent chapters is Mitsumi's family dynamic. It was so cute to see her interact with them. And very very refreshing. I wish I could read more series like this rather than always see family depicted as a source of one's own trauma (which is a realistic take too for some but, for most of us it is a little more complicated than that).
Okay sorry gushed through this series again lmao.
Now this is getting to the good part. Not that I didn't like the build up. I actually love a slow burn series.

I cried when Kim Dan was going to the sea. He was pushed to the brinked, even with the strongest resolve, taking care of someone in death's door can break even the strongest of wills. I can kinda understand how it spiraled to that.
I am glad Jaekyung was on time and kinda knew he would catch wind about Kim Dan buuuut it is still too soon for me lol. I need him to suffer more.
Maybe he will suffer a bit more. I hope author-nim makes it so.

But seriously. I hope the author doesn't just make them fall in love instantly or make them fuck the next chapters. We need a longer arc of Jaekyung making up for things. I mean dude has to directly express his apology to Kim Dan so I need him to work hard more.
