sadly this happens a lot irl as well, idk what's the psychology behind it but i know a lot of people who's in the same situation as sohan... like this one friend of mine, he'll always rant about how his parents and siblings use up all of his salary & savings every month, but at the end of the day he'll always give in to them. it's basically a cycle. he'll give and they'll take. i talked to him about how he should just leave, he can live by himself with his salary, but he said he couldn't... even if he wants to. his main reason was he "loves" his family and he couldn't stomach leaving them alone.
Ik, and as a friend it's frustrating to see them go through this, you want to do something but you can't cuz at the end of the day it's their money, their choice, that's why I said it's so frustrating, but in Sohan's case, the father is clearly narcissistic, he doesn't really think abt Sohan's feelings or his ex wife's, just his own, I won't spoil too much cuz I'm done reading up to ch. 49 (ب_ب)
