this is a wonderful story, very immersive plot but a tiring read considering how annoying the characters can be in their decision making. its rather realistic in terms of how their romance is developing. i would assume in such a time frame and with the implications of war and life circumstances that the author is doing a great job at depicting a love story in that setting…
however
the characters are beyond frustrating . 60+ chapters and these two seem the draw further and further away with the decisions they make, they clearly love each other but give them selves all the reasons not to get married and be together.

I am disappointed, i had high hopes for it in the beginning but after chapter 70 or so i became annoyed, the plot completely too a deep turn and started developing poorly, first of all what the hell is the author thinking when writing rezef, im sure we all thought he was gonna be redeemed from the wickedness of his pass and become emperor and even if a different ending, the author completely wasted him away, practically writting him as a mad man and the fl, though smart and cunning is an emotional trauma bucket, 100+ chapters and darling is still hung up on the novel and the errors of her pass, she should have been accepted what happened and hold her head hight to the future . the romance it self is barely satisfying considering the duke is all clingly and she choses not to accept his love because oh “thats not the way the story ends”

an instance like this shows that she is rather foolish, because in the beginning she was willing to forgive her brother and not hold his pass against him n when she saw the changes due to how SHE began treated him, shes all like “perhaps this time you can change and grow with love” but when the duke switches up because of how SHES HAS BEEN TREATING HIM ; its all “oh we are not ment for each other, i cant love you” blah blah …like wheres the logic in that

everything is good, the plot, the characters and especially the story execution ; even the romance; though could be better is fine, but yk its…kinda boring, like theres no anticipation or antagonistic characters or anyone besides the vatican that is opposing to them and even though its slice of life almost its still dosent give you anything to look forward to in the story

maybe its just not to my standard but i felt this story lacked something, the concept and plot is great but poorly executed and the pacing is confusing, i had really high hopes in the beginning but it went down hill I felt after Arinelles death, i really like the idea of both of them regressing and being married and lovers in their pass life but it could have been written better,

anticipation, animosity between characters, the villains, it could have been better written honestly but it was poorly made out to be boring. their romance to me was not sweet ( AT ALL) the way they just started off already being intimate immediately after she enter into the palace, the author could have shown them rekindling their love buy realising they love each through certain circumstances, or situations
