from our perspective, it is perfectly reasonable and even endearing that the supposed reaction from ml towards the mc’s revelation would be that he loves her for her.
but what most people don’t realize is how big the severity of the revelation really is. it’s hard to build the courage to say something as nonsensical as transmigration especially in that era where there’s no precedence of such things ever happened even in mainstream media.
i think it’s just right for mc to be anxious even if she knows that the ml would just accept it wholeheartedly. sometimes it’s not enough to just be accepted, there needs to be certain level understanding, deliberation, and concern regarding the matters between both parties as some sort of emotional assurance that could convey that ‘yes, i am listening to you’ and ‘yes, now i understand and i fully accept it’.
what the mc and luca expected of the ml is just the surface level of acceptance. which makes them anxious because it got them thinking if he really understood and accepted it or he’s just being indifferent and don’t really care about it. it’s just that the ml has a track record of bring a straight ball and doesn’t know how to handle common sense/social matters very well which makes him a little standoffish and indifferent even if in reality he’s not.
from our perspective it’s easy to see that the ml definitely loves them, but taking it from their perspective it wasn’t easy to know. just like the saying, sometimes it’s easier for outsiders to see objectively what’s going on rather than the people involved.
regarding luca’s resentment, it’s very easy to see that he might be misunderstanding something. but his reaction is perfectly portrayed because, with him, things ended with knowing that ml’s love for him is only based on responsibility (which is probably not) and for a child who lacked love and adult figure to begin with, this is a very hurtful statement. especially with it ended tragically, all sadness, longing, resentment, and unwillingness are mixed up into a jumbled mess of big emotional trauma that followed him. even tho right now he probably already knows that ml is not what he thought he is, deep down he’s still not willing to accept it because of this trauma.
it’s not that people’s comments about mc and luca being overly anxious is wrong. it’s just that feelings are complicated and for now i think both of their reactions are normal enough.
