Becoming the Unwanted Mistress of a Noble Family
This is like ultra mega strong apex female lead.
Marriage with CEO
This ml has done domestic abuse, rape, and made another girl pregnant while she was still married to him, even after the fl did so much for him. I read this because I heard they don’t end up together and it was only 40 chapters so I read it (goes uo to 40 chaoters in another site), and they actually don’t end up together. However, this story should have a tragedy tag because:
*spoilers from here on out
The female lead dies.
Basically the ml was in love with a girl. But the girl died. Fl looks like the girl who died so he married her, but he basically treated her like shit.
What he didn’t know was that the fl got a heart transplant from the girl who died, the one that he loved. They were very good friends, but fl’s friend had low self esteem because the ml was much more richer and handsome than her and treated her well so she felt she did not deserve it. The friend was eventually raped, which made her want to suicide because, due to her low self esteem, she thought she was too dirty to face him. She decided to donate her heart to the fl and kill herself.
After receiving her friend’s heart the friends feelings supposedly transferred over to her and she fell in love with the ml and decided to take care of him in her friends stead, so she endured all those years of suffering. Even if he yelled at her and made out with another girl and choked and humiliated her, she still, for example, took a knife wound for him when he was being assaulted by thugs but was too drunk to fight back, or when she jumped in front of a car for him. The ml didn’t do shit for her fyi, even after all those, and still continued to curse at her and treat her like actual garbage.
The female lead gets pregnant so she knows for sure she will die, because her sickly body can’t handle it. She pretty much goes into end it all mode. She divorces him, pretends the green haired guy, who I will call 2nd ml, is her boyfriend, and basically draws a line between them. She pretends she aborted his baby and gets the divorce and moves out, and is basically an independent divorcee. She does this because she knows she will die so she doesn’t want to cause him pain.
Now, the reason she dies is because the ml attacks the second lead (financially) and bankrupts his fanily and makes his life miserable. So the fl drags herself over to the ml to plead with him to undo what he did to the 2nd ml. He basically yells at her some very offensive things, which causes her blood pressure to spike and is the final nail in the coffin causing her to die shortly afterwards. Before she dies she gives all her assets to the 2nd ml as an apology, and gives her heart back to her dead friend.
The ml is supposed to have a sad ending because now he has a child, so he can’t die, but will live in suffering for the rest of his life because both of the girls he loves are dead.
Idk, I guess moral of the story is that both the girls were self deprecating and so they ended up dying, and ml was an asshole so he ended up plagued by guilt, but the 2nd ml and the mother in law had to suffer too because of the deaths, so instead of being satifying or justified or whatever this just ended up being irritating.
Beware of the Villainess!
I reread this again recently and honestly, rereading this for the milionth time is literally way more interesting than reading some of those other isekais for the first time. Melissa is a female lead who doesn’t beat around the bush and doesn’t hesitate against other people, and she doesn’t make googoo eyes at some asshole who tries to redeem himself or buddy up to her negligent father. Nine is one of the softest mls ever and also one of the most self sacrificial mls I’ve seen. Usually they want to make the ml super cool, so they don’t ever want to put him in a weak position. Some authors can’t even bear it if the ml isn’t stronger, richer, of higher status, and literally better at everything than everyone else in the continent. On that note, although Mellisa was pretty cool, it didn’t feel like she was a legendary existence that was better than everyone (unlike those dukes that can bribe the whole nation somehow). Like, her swordsmanship teacher is better at fighting than her, and Ian still holds the highest authority as the emperor and although Melissa solos a lot of things other people are actually useful. Also, I feel this is an author who truly likes all the characters in the story. The side characters all had unique personalities and their lives didn’t solely revolve around the main characters. Some of them also had unexpected relationships with each other. There weren’t maids getting threatened to have their necks chopped off by the duke if they didn’t do the paperwork faster, while the author and all the other characters laugh off the verbal abuse in the background. Everyone in the mansion is not out to be a bully and are being sane and rational people doing their jobs. Even that one maid who seems like the typical otome isekai maid turns out to not be. With the exception of Miguel and Peacock, the villains all get redeemed (though not necessarily forgiven). Though peacock was pretty funny when he mailed her spam, and Miguel just seems downright tsundere at the final battle (though I still hate him for what he did to Nine). Also, there’s a massive amount of foreshadowing, plot twists, and strange surprises, but apart from having a good plot, it’s also very funny, but still serious enough not to be crack.
Go Away Romeo
First of all, ROMEO IS NOT THE MALE LEAD.
The story has made it very clear that he is SCUM and that all he does is terrorize the female lead and those close to her. The female lead is strong and would not even think for a second to be with a guy who abandoned her. She got trust issues from him, and she stuck to those trust issues (unlike some other female leads in the childbirth genre who’s trust issues always act up with the second lead but magically disappear when the ml who abused them appears).
The male lead is 99% likely to be Paris, and that last 1% probability goes to the prince. This type of female lead would never love Romeo in a century. They’ve really driven home that Romeo isn’t a male lead as well because he seems progressively worse as the story goes on.
The female lead is intelligent and observant, but the setting is realistic, so she can’t become some op face slapping fl. She is sharp tongued and clever with her words and actions. She also doesn’t overlook annoying or rude behavior directed towards her. Albeit being in a low position, she always attempts to cross the line and get the most she can demand out of a situation.
Paris nags a lot. He literally nags the fl the first time they meet, but the way he worded it made him sound like an asshole, which is why the fl yelled at him. Eventually he likes the fl very much, even if he has to wait for her.
I have to say, even though the child is supposed to be cute and innocent, he just annoys the shit out of me because of the troubles caused by him. I get that that’s the main point of the story, the struggle of being a single mother in a conservative society, but it still doesn’t make me any less annoyed. The child disappears for long stretches of time, and when it reappears, you can feel trouble is near.
Also, if you read the original Shakespeare (or no fear Shakespeare), don’t expect the characters to be like them. This is like those Greek god stories or fairy tale stories. The have the same names but are not the same characters.
The Reason Why Ophelia Can’t Get Away From The Duke
This story is completed. In the beginning, Alexander and the mom seems like the only sus one but by the end everyone is either a murderer or criminal.
I deducted a star because half of each chapter was flashback, which was annoying.
Fl is intelligent and cunning, and would do anything for the sake of her mother, even if it’s not right. However, her guilt eventually catches up to her.
Ml just likes the fl very much is all. Even if he discovers the things fl has done he still likes her. He’s very intelligent and figured things out quickly. This story is a battle of wits between them.
This story is more like a mystery than a romance. Fl is good at keeping secrets. In the end the only one who knows the truth is her and ml.
The story is just as the title said. It’s why Ophelia can’t get away from the duke. There’s no wedding or babies or anything, it just ends after you know why Ophelia can’t leave the duke.
