I think this should have the romance tag (and harem too ) so that people don’t expect it to be a child rearing manhua. I think it was obvious where it’s gonna go from the beginning considering the novel it was adapted from (yes, it says so on it that it is adapted from the novel) as well as the questions written at the bottom of the chapters. And also how under the title card it says “I want to raise kids but they like me”. For a romance it is good in my opinion, you’ll just dislike it if you think it’s child rearing genre, like the people who read tyrant’s guardian and thought it was child rearing.

Fl saves the ml a couple of times n he’s a sly, needy, flirtatious, clingy, cutesy, possessive yandere who’s out to touch the fl every chance he gets. Fl goes around saving a lot of people, even ends up seducing 2 girls while she’s crossdressing and saves them. Progression is interesting, I wanna watch who and what is behind the hidden plot points and is also cool watching her get stronger throughout the story.

Dude, I like the original empress more than the transmigrator, would honestly read a story about her. The emperor in the beginning was a jerk, let his child get poisoned, and got mad because the empress was mad at him for going back on his words. Dude, you’re the one who broke your promise, why would you only apologize to her after she says she’s okay with you screwing her over? Either ways, they try to gloss it over later and make him cute and just a victim of his shyness and overobedience to the empress dowager or whatever, but why can’t we just have a nice, decent man from start to finish in a story?

This story is unique because of the setting. The female lead is very brave and strong. She is a woman of that time period but still manages to be strong willed even with all the constraints imposed upon her, even taking bullets and getting out of risky situations very intelligently.

Now the male lead on the other hand, he sucks. He keeps making assumptions about her so she has to keep clearing the misunderstandings. He’s also very violent and bruises her a lot of times, and he yells at her a lot. He tells her he will never love her and gets pissed that she accepted the engagement with him and tells her to break it off, but when she tries to break it off (immediately afterwards, mind you), he gets pissed at her and thinks she’s playing with his feelings. Every time the fl breathes he gets pissed at her. Any time the fl does something on her own, he gets pissed because he should apparently be the one protecting her. His only saving grace is that he is a police officer with lots of power, so he can save her in special circumstances, but she saved his ass a lot of times too. However, he abuses his power to keep her confined and rapes her while she’s half asleep due to sickness and trauma from being locked up, and threatens to use his power against her on multiple occasions. After the rape fiasco, she tries to get away from him, but he threatens she has to kill him and literally tries to take his life and almost dies because she pushes him away. Then there was the other chick he had a thing with. He’s all kissy kissy with her and cold to the fl, saying he’ll never love her or whatever, then he just dumps the other girl cold, like I actually felt bad for her. He says lots of degrading stuff to fl. Ngl, the other guy sucks ass too, rejecting her advances even though he likes her back, then suddenly getting more chummy when he sees her with the ml, then telling her he doesn’t like her and laughing that she likes him after she exposes her engagement, and then after all that bs he still has the balls to just forcefully kiss her. I’m pretty sure he only shows up when they need to create drama.

The fl knows ml sucks ass. She holds her ground against him. She gets along with the other girl too. On the other hand, she still has some feelings for him because he did save her and took care of her a lot of times. Sometimes she cries and is desperate for him. Most of the time she quickly composes herself and still remembers how shitty he is and what the circumstances are, and she behaves in a rational manner. She dislikes that she has feelings for him after everything he’s done to her, and she does what she believes is best, making mature decisions for the sake of her family and those around her. Later on though, she goes downhill really fast, becomes dense as hell, and gets beaten up easily by others. Also forgives that crusty ml who says he will never hurt her again and then hurts her and then says he will change, and then stays crusty, and etc. We see panel after panel of him being an asshole and tearing her down and then a short section of him buying her a wardrobe or some shit and she forgives him. And even their “cute” moments is just him abusing her, like forcing her to cook late at night or humiliating her.

Overall, I just read it to see what would happen. It’s ok I guess, don’t really ship any of the characters and am not really invested in them, but if you just want something to read you can read this.
