Love that too I came out as bi
But my parent dont like it
Sometimes they say offhand comments like the time I was talking about Riversdales and she's like I don't believe in the gay thing
And stuff like it's a sin there's literally nothing in the bible that says that
It did hurt but I guess theres way worse
I mean the bible says that as a woman I got like negative rights and look at me, not being owned by any man and speaking my mind without being burned at the stake. My very existence defying god. Times change, and we either change with them or become obsolete. I'm sorry that you have to deal with that but I'm incredibly happy you're being yourself regardless of that fact
Romans 1:26 βThat is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other.β
^I mean giving shit about lesbian women is pretty bad...
But (Numbers 25:6β13 NRSV) is all about how a mixed-race couple should be killed, their killer praised by god for keeping the nation racially pure
Also this whole thing about rape was... sheesh. "Hear and give ear; do not be haughty, for the Lord has spoken. . . . And if you say in your heart, 'Why have these things come upon me?' it is for the greatness of your iniquity that your skirts are lifted up, and you are violated . . . because you have forgotten me and trusted in lies. I myself will lift up your skirts over your face, and your shame will be seen." (Jeremiah 13:15β26 NRSV)
And then sexual molestation? Damn. "Moreover the Lord saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet: Therefore the Lord will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the Lord will discover their secret parts." (Isaiah 3:16β17 KJV)"
Good thing you don't like church though, because if you were a girl? shhhh.
"The women should keep silent in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be in submission, as the Law also says. If there is anything they desire to learn, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church" Corinthians 14:34-35
Then there are quite a few quotes about women needing to remain silent and submissive, which not my cup of tea thank you very much. Plus there are a lot of issues regarding allowing slavery and nearly always painting women as the bad guy if they aren't completely submissive towards their husbands. I have no beef against the religion as a whole but some things are problematic and we can't ignore that. I mean Deuteronomy alone is sheesh. A lot of other texts from different religions are similarly problematic, this isn't just a singular religion thing but we have to admit the issues of our own culture and acknowledge them, even if we don't accept them.
I thought she was gonna say I want you
