That ending doesn't make sense... It definitely should've been a sad ending, why couldn't the author make it that way? It was either she dies, or he dies. If Muk chose her in the end, how come he's alive? He should've ceased to exist by then. And also, how can someone stay friends with that kind of guy? Even if he did help her in the end, not cutting him off is such a bad decision. He's a piece of shit. I think the author tried so hard to make it a happy ending, but they should've done it in a way that actually makes sense. At this point, it's just Deus ex Machina.
