Could some one answer my questions? I only read the first few chapters and couldn’t continue even though a lot of people say this is good.
The main character seems to have a very kind heart but how come he doesn’t care at all for what happened to the original first prince? Like where he is now and also what he had gone through in the past that’s probably traumatizing to such a young child.
He’s intentionally putting in effort to become friends with some pretty terrible kids, someone who bullies a weak little kid for no good reason except that they are sickly, quiet, and depressed. At least it seems like he really is trying to be friends with that brown haired bully, or is there actually a twist later?
All this makes me feel that the mc is “nice” but not kind. Which is absolutely fine!!!! I LOVE morally grey or even evil mc’s. What I don’t really understand is that it seems like he really is supposed to be kind, yet at least in the first few chapters, he’s really doing some questionable thing.
If not for the spirits narrating how pure and kind he is, I would’ve thought he was a manipulative mc who pretends to be kind but actually doesn’t care about anyone because his actions are much nicer to the bullies than the victim (original host of body).
Please let me know how wrong I am so I can have the heart to finish this
Before you read my answers to all your questions, I will give a head up beforehand for obvious spoilers and to not be offended by my way of speaking, bless your heart dear
1. If you could've continue reading, he's really considerate enough (unlike some other reincarnators) to be very worried about the young boy and how he feels that him living and "using" his body to do whatever he wishes (aka living the life he couldn't in his past) was violating his feelings and him (the boy). And so in return, he decided that he'll live the way he wants this time while also fulfilling the dead boy's wishes and responsibilities (yes the boy died due to the empress poisoning him, but fret not since she'll die very early). He was caring about the boy as if he were his own child like how he does with everyone close to him.
2. Other than the fact that he verbally bullies Judas (the young boy), he was actually decent enough as a human to treat Judas like a normal human (aka with respect) before he(Judas) was even "redeemed" as a "worthy" crown prince (which means he didn't befriend MC to butter him up or with duality). He(the brown-haired bully) himself was also redeemed when he stood up for MC with the other worse bullies like warning him to be careful and helping him punish the bullies accordingly.
3. I would need more specifications on what you mean by questionable things
4. Not sure how you depict that, since for me I thought of original MC as a "coward"(nothing wrong about not wanting to meddle in someone's personally grudge). But you can't really blame him since he's also a human. Besides, he himself also very clearly stated that he is not as pure and innocent as the spirits deem him to be, and even admits outright that he was naive and ignorant.
Hey, thanks so much for writing all this! And no offense taken.
1. So glad to hear that! Then I definitely just haven’t read enough chapters to see that.
2. Thanks for elaborating! I was undoubtedly sure that he would be redeemed later, however, I think I gotta clarify my troubles better. Since I already assumed he was going to be redeemed because he seems like he would play a bigger role at least in the beginning, being redeemed or not wasn’t part of my concerns. Only thing that irks me is that the mc tries to befriend him prior to brown hair kid being redeemed :( so far he only showed himself as someone who goes out of their way, unprompted, to verbally harass someone else. So unless the mc had some special mental ability that I don’t know of, I assume that he doesn’t know any more about this kid other than what he showed himself as.
I myself am absolutely nowhere near how kind and pure the mc is portrayed to be, but even I have some moral qualms about befriending someone like that
Or maybe it can be explained by saying that mc has a “I can fix him!!!” Mindset, if that’s the case then aight I got nothin…
3. Sorry for the confusion! That was just referring to what I typed out earlier (ie. refer to #2)! Not talking about other separate things.
4. You’re absolutely right, even if he truly was a coward that would be absolutely fine. In actuality, I quite enjoy cowardly mcs who are openly portrayed as such or even seemingly pathetic. But from the limited content that I’ve seen, he really didn't strike me as a cowardly character.
Though, I’m not criticizing the character as much as what the author was trying to show. Like trying to show a kind and humane person who is as close to a saint as possible (from whatever the spirits where saying) yet still humble and down to earth (him saying that he’s still not as pure and has xxxx flaws). And the author is probably really trying to show this through his actions too! Namely, being kind and trying to befriend everyone — which is exactly where the problem #2 comes in.
Honestly, any story is bound to have logical holes (or maybe I’m just not getting it), so this problem itself is easy to overlook. But the fact that this simple issue exists makes me wonder abt how the author portrays other events in the future. I’m just reluctant to encounter something like this all the time in the future and keep experiencing cringe
Anyways, thanks so much for replying and reading so much bs I write, bless your heart
They’re gonna be hard till season 2
