And that's what he was trying to do. That was the exact reason why he even went to that second appointment - knowingly risking his life - to begin with: to get evidence. Which, imho, was actually a very brave thing to do. I know *I* definitely wouldn't have had the nerve to risk my life like that to get evidence on a killer, going back to his flat after escaping once.
