I would rewrite "Surviving As A Maid" to give the queen a better life. Throughout the story, you expect that she'll either get her revenge or a happy ending, but instead, she accepts her death without any resolution. I want her to be happy without her having to ruin her life.

How to handle such a situation varies from person to person but I'd say the general rule of thumb is to tell her the harsh truth. Prolonging it anyhow by making non-obvious comments or trying to talk it pretty makes it harder for both of you and more painful for her. If you want to keep her as a friend tell her that, tell her that you're not uncom......
