So in chapter 6 Ono says to Jun "Homos, like homo music, don't they?" But then in Chapter 13 he states that "Sheer Heart Attack is my favourite of theirs" in acceptance of Jun's sexuality and I just really fucking love that.
But I feel as though it can also be read as Ono coming to terms with his own sexuality as well, and that much like the rooftop kid he used homophobia as a front to seem as straight as possible. I mean going into detail about the sex you had with your girlfriend, getting extremely arrogant after the fact, shitting on the gay kid yet fearing when he's about to take his life, and also being really overprotective of Ryouhei, it all kinda feels like internalized homophobia to me.
Though I could very well just be reading too much into his character, maybe he was just a homophobic prick that realised how awful he was and wanted to show the kid he bullied some support. I might re-read and focus on Ono more and come back to this comment.
Ladies and gentlemen... him
