This story feels like it changes trajectory so sharply and often, like the creator had a very loose outline of what they wanted to see but didn’t really think of how it’d happen until the exact moment they had to publish the chapter.
I’m also kinda weirded out by the faces. They are jarringly simply drawn compared to the bodies, and it’s like they get stiffer with each chapter… the characters only really have two expressions: :0 and >;0. Like, close your mouth bb you’re gonna catch flies.
I didn’t come into this story expecting much (let’s be honest, most of us came here for the edgy smut) but the writing is soooo good and the inner conflict of the mc is done so well.
So many stories that try to deal with these topics depict Stockholm syndrome as developing in like, a single chapter, and suddenly the mc is ok with everything, but this story does it all so well. Like, it takes its time with establishing the little things that prime someone’s mind for Stockholm Syndrome, and it makes the story all the scarier because it’s clear the mc is genuinely losing to his inner battle against it /despite/ the fact he’s aware of it. Really just hammers in the fact that Stockholm Syndrome is a mental illness, and it doesn’t care how aware the person is of it or how hard they try to keep their rationality. Dare I say, it feels so much more “realistic”.
On that note… can someone check on the author of this manhwa…? Just in case… ╥﹏╥
