I feel like if they started with this arc from THE BEGINNING it wouldn’t have been so shitty instead of it being another “A guy like you” since it actually relates to the genre. They could have just removed “the childhood best friend who has a crush on the main character” cliche and kept this arc, which has the creator of the game and actually kinda makes sense?
That's true. Although, I wasnt opposed to the childhood friend arc. I just felt that having progressed from that, a different type of obstacle would have been brought forth? We never know. Maybe I assumed wrong and itll be a different twist.

I'm trying to find words to describe how I feel... this author and this work... So much sadness with the little snippets of happiness. It was a truly wonderful read. My heart broke over and over again, only to be shown that happiness can be found - even on the foundations of tragedy.
