Tjhe novel is not yet finished. In what I remember my last chapter was when the seme was imprisoned because he lost to the emperor in a big battle/war and the uke was asking him questions (mostly about where his mother is). Tbh. In that part the uke still has libgering feelings which he himself cannot explain, he stated it was not love or pain nor hatred but It was definitely somthing strong. At that time as well the emperor was courting the uke and was treating him nowhere near the crap he experienced with the seme.
List of the things seme did:
1. Knew that the princess was harrassing the uke but kept a blind eye
2. Accused the uke of being a slut for flirting with other men (especially his guard which was the only guy on the semes place who actually took care of him)
3. The seme personally humiliated, stab, tortured the uke until he was thin as ice and was bleeding like crazy at that point I was just crying as well because the personal guard of the uke was crying and was begging while shouting "what has he done to deserve this!?" The uke honestly the whole time wanted to see his mom in a stable state.
This humiliation occured because the uke was set up by the princess to make it look like he was having an affair with someone else while being the concubine of the seme.
So yeah let us all end him.

I am not sure where the English novel translates left off, so I will more or less starts where the emperor came into the picture. These are point forms so I will skip a lot of details and hopefully, I remember things in order.
- Zhen Bei starts coming increasing cold to Chen Yu who is getting hurt from his attitude.
- the princess consort got a male prostitute, Hong Ren, who is very flamboyant, for Zhen Bei, supposedly to take his interest away from Chen Yu. Chen Yu tried to do something of the things that Hong Ren does like wearing make up, but was rejected by Zhen Bei. Hong Ren and Zhen Bei got closer together.
- A lot of crappy stuff happened like the princess consort tried to frame Chen Yu for having an affair.
- Chen Yu asked Zhen Bei if he loves Chen Yu, Zhen Bei said he likes him, didn't love him. That was the last draw so Chen Yu moved out of her maison and started working as a servant. He worked enough that supposed to pay off all of the expenses that he accumulated while being a consort.
- Chen Yu negotiated amount of money which Zhei Bei agreed to pay, so Chen Yu left the house.
- He wanted to get back to the Chen's house to find his mother, but she wasn't there. Instead the princess consort kidnapped him and tried to have some people assault him, but Chen Yu saved by Hong Ren. Princess consort instead of a taste of her own medicine and went crazy.
- in the meantime, the emperor accused of Zhei Bei of treason and started a conflict between the two parties. Chen Yu ended up being with the emperor. The emperor was pretty kind to Chen Yu, giving him some freedom and promised him to find his mom. The emperor convinced Chen Yu that Zhei Bei hid his mom. He also gave him a lot of books to read which is when Chen Yu learned about a Chong Clan who was once powerful clan had advance knowledge and supposedly hidden treasure.
- During Chen Yu stay with the emperor, he encountered Chen Yue Fei (who was the original Chen Yu and was supposed to marry Zhei Bei). Chen Yue Fei was a cunning person who tried to raise her status and now is part of the emperor harem. People also resent Chen Yu because the emperor spends too much time with him.
-Zhei Bei got capture and was sent to the prison. Chen Yu tried to get information from Zhei Bei about his mom, but really he wanted to see Zhei Bei. Zhei Bei pretended to get capture to close to Chen Yu and the two parties started in the emperor palace. During the confrontation between Zhei Bei and Emperor, Chen Yu overheard their conversation both of them got close to Chen Yu because they realized that he was from the Chong clan. An unique feature of the people of this clan is the extra bone in their long finger. (This was the bigger plan that emperor was talking about when he slapped his sister). During the fight, Chen Yu found his mom but she was too late, she was already killed and Zhei Bei was near her when Chen Yu found her. In the end, the emperor lost the battle and Zhei Bei would become the new emperor. He didn't kill the emperor thought.
- It was revealed the reason why Zhei Bei was acting cold to Chen Yu and purposely drive him away was because he wanted Chen Yu to go to the emperor to get information about the Chong clan but he regretted that after seeing Chen Yu cried for him mom. The odd thing was how can a mute cry out loud. He realized why he wanted the money was to bail his mom out of the Chong house.
- During the transition of the new dynasty, Zhei Bei wanted to keep Chen Yu by his side but Chen Yu closed off his heart to him. He was afraid of Zhei Bei and didn't want to go near him. Zhei Bei various way to win his affection again, but Chen Yu was aloof to him. Chen Yu at this point was a zombie because of his mom's passing and learning that he was being used. Chen Yu wanted to moved out of the palace, to a near by villa, Zhei Bei allowed him but really Zhei Bei moved to the villa with Chen Yu.
- Chen Yue Fei ended staying in the new dynasty and she encountered with Zhei Bei. Zhei Bei asked Chen Yue Fei how to win Chen Yu's love back and Chen Yue Fei suggested getting a new consort to test Chen Yu's feeling. It backfired on Zhei Bei because came to his wedding day to congrats him and gave him back the white jade before.
- Chen Yu was pretty depressed at this state and his health wasn't great, he didn't think he will lived long so he cut his finger which was supposed to be the key to the Chong clan treasure and tried to commit suicide. Zhei Bei found him and thought he was dead, Zhei Bei devastated cried in hysteria. Chen Yu was revived and in the process cough out some blood. Strangely after the blood was out, Chen Yu was able to make sound. He wasn't completely mute. (it was said that he might have been traumatized when he was young).
- Zhei Bei didn’t want to lose Chen Yu again, but Chen Yu’s attitude toward Zhei Bei hasn’t changed. Even though now Chen Yu is the empress of the new dynasty. A neighbour country (Ko Rei) ’s state teacher made a visit to Zhei Bei, Chong Ling. He is one of the descendent of the Chong Clan and wanted Chen Yu to come to their clan with him. The country, Ko Rei, is supposed to be have ties with the north barbarian tribe (same group of people who attacked and made Chen Yu fall off the cliff).
- Chong Ling wanted to meet Chen Yu, Zhei Bei reluctantly allowed thinking that he is Chen Yu only remaining relative. Chong Ling told him about their clan and wanted Chen Yu got back their hidden village. Chen Yu eventually agreed and sneaked out to go to Chong village. On their way, they were attacked by the north barbarian tribe. Chen Yu was knocked unconscious, but when he woke up, he saw someone with a demon mask that Chong Ling said will be his bodyguard. The guard doesn’t speak, so Chen Yu assumed that he is muted too.
- They got to Chong village and all the elder greeted Chen Yu and treated him like family. Chen Yu met Chong Yu, Chong Ling’s younger brother who is supposed to be around his age but a bit younger. Chen Yu’s time at the village was peaceful and the mute guard followed him everywhere. Chen Yu became more cheerful because he doesn’t have to be guarded anymore. However little that Chen Yu knows, the mute guard was Zhei Bei which Chong Ling knew and agreed to keep it as a secret.
- Zhei Bei while being the mute guard took care of Chen Yu and there were time that Chen Yu saw a resemblance of the guard with Zhei Bei. Chong Yu developed a bit of a crush on Zhei Bei, however, Zhei Bei only had Chen Yu in his mind.
- the elders one day mentioned that Chong family is getting to be extinct and there is a plan for Chong Yu to marry outside the family and they hope Chong Ling and Chen Yu will get married. Supposedly, there is a magic medicine that allows men to give birth but it only wants on people from Chong’s clan. Chong Ling doesn’t mind being married to Chen Yu but Chen Yu can’t do it, telling Chong Ling that he already has someone that he likes. Zhei Bei was shocked to hear about the plan but relieved that Chen Yu doesn’t want to marry Chong Ling (he was convinced that Chen Yu still loves him).
- As Chen Yu got closer to the mute guard, he wasn’t sure if he is attracted to the guard because he resembled Zhei Bei or something else. Chong Yu asked Chen Yu if the guard is married, Chen Yu didn’t think he is but asked anyways. Unable to lie to Chen Yu, Zhei Bei said that he is married (to him). Chen Yu was shocked to hear that and became more self-conscience of the guard. In a moment of confusion, Chen Yu told the guard that they shouldn’t be too close, so the following several days, the guard didn’t appear in front of Chen Yu, only protecting him in secret.
- The head elder passed away and before he died, he wanted Chen Yu to be the head of family. Chen Yu reluctantly agreed. The marriage thing came up but the elder said it’s okay if Chong Ling and him doesn’t get married to each other. After the elder passed way, Chen Yu had a vision of Zhei Bei but it turned out to be fake, he had a huge cry. He realized that he was holding his feeling for him the whole time. Zhei Bei thought Chen Yu cried because of the elder passing. Chen Yu has suspected if the guard and Zhei Bei is the same person, so he lied to Zhei Bei that he and Chong Ling will get married to fulfill the elder’s dying wish. Zhei Bei was shocked but only can send this well wished. The ceremony would take place 10 days supposedly so that the elder’s spirit can see the marriage.
- Chong Ling knows that Chen Yu is gambling to see if the guard/Zhei Bei will show up. Chen Yu said if he doesn’t show, he might as well marry to Chong Ling, it doesn’t make any difference to him. During the wedding day, Zhei Bei didn’t show up, but the village was attacked by the north Barbarian. During the fight, Zhei Bei showed up and saved Chen Yu. Chong Ling told him to take Chen Yu, they will handle the village. Zhei Bei wanted the magic medicine in exchange for saving the village. Chong Ling agreed.
- Zhei Bei and Chen Yu escaped and went to the nearest port city but as they cross the border, something doesn’t look right, they realized that the lord of the town was in cooperating with barbarian. Zhei Bei fought and got injuried, Chen Yu panicked and Zhei Bei asked if Chen Yu is worried for him. After a moment, Chen Yu realized its Zhei Bei’s voice underneath the mask. Zhei bei put Chen Yu on the horse which they stole earlier and told Chen Yu to go to the north fort, they will recognize him. The horse ran off while Zhei Bei fought the enemy.
- When Chen Yu got to the base, he saw Song Qing who immediately sent help to find Zhei Bei. After a few hours, the troop came back and Chen Yu run and hugged Zhei Bei when he saw him. Zhei Bei was injured, so his wound needed to be attended.
-While getting treated, Zhei Bei asked Chen Yu if he still hates him. Chen Yu said he does, but it is one thousandth compares to the love he has for Zhei Bei. Zhei Bei was overjoyed when he heard that. After their reconciliation, Chen Yu demanded why Zhei Bei didn’t crash the wedding and that he was okay if he married someone else. Zhei Bei replied that he was planning to stop the wedding but the truth was he wasn’t sure because he was afraid that Chen Yu will hate him more. They got to be more lovey-dovey then and a lot of sweet/sexy moments.
- They eventually went back to the palace after everything was settled. Two months later, Chen Yu developed craving for strange food. It turns out that he got pregnant because he secretly ate one of the magic medicines. Zhei Bei didn’t know that he did that, he only took to medicine to prevent Chong Ling marrying Chen Yu. The end of the story is about them getting ready to welcome the baby and that they reconfirm their love for each other.
The extra chapters took place after Chen Yu gave birth to a boy at different age. The kid has the smart of Chen Yu and the brute of his father. People called him little demon. According to Hong Ren and the Phi Xi-Shi (doctor), they need to bully the kid early while they have the chance.
I also skipped the Hong Ren and Song Qing because they are the other couple in the story.
I didn’t include a lot of details but basically, I found Chen Yu’s character change from someone who is submissive and naïve to someone who is more cunning and acceptance of his own emotion. On the other hand, Zhei Bei appeared to be cold and ambitious turned out to be soft and at time silly to Chen Yu. There was a moment that Song Qinq thought that Zhei Bei was actually ‘afraid of his wife’ and they know each other for a very long time. The first part of heart breaking at time but Zhei Bei really doeas love Chen Yu whether he realized or not and sacrificed a lot for him. So it was nice when they reconciled and the genuine sweet moments.
