The semes horrible rapey behavior in the first few chapters really gave me a bad feeling through this. His character does a complete personality flip and goes from a manipulating heartless douche to a sweet caring and patient lover between two chapters somehow.
The story is cute once you get past the first few chapters but be warned there is definitely blackmail and rape in the beginning of this.

This may have been the most fun sex scene I’ve ever seen. They are so obviously enjoying themselves it’s great.
Remember these aren’t humans who can turn into marine animals. These are marine animals that happened to turn into humans. So they don’t understand all our emotions and cultural/societal norms. So they come across rude, arrogant, uncaring. It’s just cause they’re dumb to our ways. Really? I see seme obviously having the feelings, even stronger than uke. He initiated it and keeps pushing. This is the first time uke made the first move. And he (seme) is not sure about uke’s feelings because he backs off and doubts a lot (considering that he can’t read his thoughts like we can as readers). The question about potential gfs is either to calm the uke down or checking the reaction.

It’s nice to see the whole “traumatized/hurt seme” trope be flipped upside down. The normal trope would have a traumatized seme being mean and horrible to the uke but instead with this he wants to make sure the uke enjoys himself so much that he doesn’t even care if he get anything in return. It makes him appear so cold at times but I think it’s just that he’s afraid to receive love. It’s already been said that his lovers always just take and then leave him and it’s obvious he’s got some tragic backstory in there somewhere. This feels new and sad and beautiful and I’m so excited to continue this and hopefully see the seme open up more and allow himself to be spoiled too.
Also awesome uke as well. He’s hardworking and strong and it’s fun watching him slowly open up and allow himself to be take a break and be loved. His sister is great too.
