Err...I didn't expect it to end so soon...I totally thought it would have lasted a lot longer. Especially with fleshing out the rest of the characters... Cough Esp Haru, [spoiler] didn't she agree to letting Melon eat her if something happened or whatever? Like she had a brief meeting with him and then nothing else.
I had a feeling the Melon arc would be the middle of the story, that things were just really starting to take off. I also expected Legoshi & Louis being life Yafta and Grandpa dude....(I dont remember their names) but more successful as Beastars. even if that wasn't the turn it was going to take... It just feels unfinished, it feels like we left behind every other character that wasn't Legoshi and maybe Louis
Look all I'm going to say is paru was a bit rough with writing beastar. She's amazing at wolrd building and character design and stuff but really needs to work on her narrative part.
She dropped in so many things then forgot about them. So yes melon was meant to eat Gary and haru agreed but nothing happened. Melon was meant to meet his dad but then suddenly his dad just dissapeared in the chapter for no reason. We were meant to learn what the whale said to the carnivores and herbivores to stop the war between them but we didn't and instead got a fish sausage. Which yafya rejected so that whole scene was useless to the story. There might of been other stuff too but I can't remember them right now. I feel like paru could of actually covered those things if less chapters were dedicated to fight scenes as they dragged out too long.
Oh also ps I have a feeling the last chapter with be a "marriage arc" and I'm not happy about it because I literally don't ship legoshi and haru anymore like to me the chemistry is gone. It felt like paru was relying on the whole thing being about legoshi doing this for haru instead of actually showing haru more. Then I ship Juno and louis even less -_- I'm honestly not satisfied because alot of the manga I liked but I didn't really like the fight scenes and how they dragged on and how alot of ends in the story are left untied not to mention at the end the realtionships between the characters who were meant to get together feels forced. So I love the story but at the same time there is just that feeling of unsatisfaction
For real. They talked about Beastars which made it seem like the two would be Beastars together but we don’t get them as Beastars. Like the name of the manga is even Beastars. Having Louis get married seems to put an end to that dream since it shows closure for him since he also has the company. Idk. It seems rushed and like there’s no point. All that was really accomplished was the end of the market which sure that’s good but I wished to see the results or something.
Honestly I shipped them, it took me some time to get used to Juno and Louis, but I appreciated it nonetheless. I feel like Paru should have at leasted focused on adding more into those relationships, esp Haru and Legoshis. Their relationship was very important in the beginning and was one of the main reasons that kept Legoshi going, so for such an important character to be put to the side like that....is upsetting. And Juno ..Goodness she's such a good character she deserved so much more, I can only imagine how good her and Louis would have been if they had more development, damn they would have been a power couple.
Also..onto Louis marriage, I had to reread that part multiple times because I just didn't get it? Like at one point he and Juno are together, then he's suddenly married? I...err what?? Then he's on a date with her again...?? I just didn't get it and I don't get him agreeing to a loveless marriage when things are they way they are. I feel as if him coming out to the public, being with a carnivore could have been something big to their society yknow?
Yes it was definitely very rushed, the entire melon drama or end battle took way too long, but then it ended so quickly and everything that happened felt so meaningless? What happens to the society? Yes the market is closed, but for what? What's stopping a new one from being built? What're the consequences? I mean there will still be carnis who eat meat, and Yafta not agreeing to the seafood meat..... what will they do for the carnivores? Why aren't, or ar least why couldn't Louis and Legoshi, damn maybe even Juno take the torch of being Beastar? Perhaps Legoshi could be working for/under Yafta, bht I completely doubt that.
I dont know, so much things could have and should have been explored. In just disappointed I suppose
1. Why is it ending so soon... I understand the author wanting to end it on a set amount of volumes... but it feels so rushed? I feel like so much more could've came out of the melon arc??
2. What's Legoshi and Haru's relationship like?? Are they still a thing????
