damn I cry like every chapter that was sad so proud of her sharing her story in the end she's so strong for that glad the dude went to jail and happy it was a happy ending it was a great story
Not sayings its okay she's forceful but I find so weird and kinda amazing, how I can think about like 50 different manga where the dude be sexually harassing the female lead by kissing them with out there consent or grabbing there boobs and stuff, idk if it's cause it's so normalized in Shoujo but there's always outrage a huge outrage when its women. I also realize that people tend to hate on female age gaps, more often cause there a "little boy" but when it's a dude it's okay cause she's a "young women" it's so interesting what some of theses people decide to bypass what's okay or not n don't even get me started on the double standers when some of these girls when they LEGIT READ YAOI like I honestly don't get where they decided to draw the line when its just "fiction" and when its not. its so freaking weird to me.
let me just name some manga from the top my head that I can think of: maid sama, say love you, Namaikizakari, L-dk, my little monster, and theses r the ones it not even that bad so many freaking old ones also guilt trip the girl into she thinking she has to lose her
virginity this one isn't from the top of my head but omg "Today, We’ll Start Our Love" is LEGIT this book but kinda worse in my he asks her to pay her back with her body n my girl say no but basically just sexual harass her the whole time I couldn't even read it n they made it into a anime like WHAAT... wild bro (⊙…⊙ )
I think maybe it's because it is normalised like you said but also because the readers (who are usually female) see themselves in the main character and if the main character does something they don't approve of they get really upset? And since they are generally nice people when they see someone who's a woman having non-consensual sex with someone else, they get really mad because rape in a big thing in being a woman/girl. You're trained to avoid it at all costs possible as a kid, whether it's wearing a lot of non-revealing clothing or just agreeing to what a man says, and no that it's a woman they get angrier because they hold women to higher standards than they do men.
But that's only for manga and such things like comics, which aren't exactly even playing fields for discussions and representation on rape and such. In the end, it is just fiction, but because the readers relate to the character it's a bigger blow than when they're just reading some BL in which they have very little emotional availability for the character (usually the uke) who's getting raped and the character (usually the seme) who's raping the other.
Anyways, yeah. Although depending on which part of the community you go into in an anime/manga, you can see the opinions of different people and a lot of the time, people get upset about men sexually assaulting women as well as vice-versa. But, in my experience, it tends to be men who are called out in fiction a lot more than women, if only because men are "supposed to enjoy it" and quite frankly whenever women call someone out, they're told that they're wrong no matter who they're calling out so even if women did call out a man, it usually has to be a guy who says that a character is a rapist or a sexual assaulter for people to believe it (and event hen it's unlikely that people will believe it).
I don't really see men called out cause of there hot it does not mater to people one bit but that's what I've seen in my point of view, and I'm bit confused if your talking about in the last paragraph because I usually see it the other way? but every has different view points in things they see online
I think that's fair, I tend to not read a lot of rapey manga and so most of the time I see that it's usually just men who are being called out, but I can see that it could be a lot of women as well.
I think a lot of men who give off creepy vibes aren't really talked about because of pretty privilege (like you said) and I would say that the amount of men and women who are called out about are about the same in number but I would wager that's only because there are a lot less women who are depicted, sexually assaulting someone than men are and so when it's a woman, it's a bit of a surprise and then readers who read this stuff will reassess it (probably subconsciously) and then question it a lot more.
I would also say though, that the people in this comment section would probably get mad about rapists, even if they were men since they seem to be a different audience from people who read BL and people who read BL have certain phases?
I read BL pretty often (although I read less now), and initially I was just completely disgusted by the lack of consent in stories (and active consent is a big thing for me, although I'm not opposed to passive consent) but I got used to it, and it was true that it is just fiction after all, so while I can get upset about it, I should only lecture people who seem to not really know that it's fiction? So I think the people who don't condemn those who are rapey in BL are usually aware that there is rape and real rape is bad, but it's fiction and so if you like it, you like it I guess. I still get uncomfortable reading it, so I usually stay away (and it's easier to do that now since there can be trigger warnings on the first page that let me know what to expect to a certain extent).
I mean this manga get better later on but I totally understand what your saying I tend to just avoid bl as of late cause I be feeling bad for the mistreat met of the ukes so I don't really them unless its super wholesome

I feel like I'm the only one who feels bad for the mc, like yeah she shouldn't have treated her son like that but damn being a mother comes with a lot of responsibility like she was just 16 when she had to deal with all these responsibility like a whole kid herself! and her dad die and everything. idk being a mother is so hard, you have deal with everyones expectations of you to be perfect and everything like I feel like your not seen a just a normal person your seen as mother no separating and my girl didn't ask to be put in this whole situation her only value was being married off I feel that so incredibly sad. like bro mothers be going through a lot and there never able to put themselves first :(
