I am actually thinking he is not that of a bastard. I also thought he is the worst. But maybe in reality he was trying to make adele happy at times, but bc of lack of common sense he never thought those things would scare her so much. In addition, he did not even knew abt how the father bastard treated her. I know, if i were Adele i would have still were irritated by him amd so on...but even with the incident with throwing her out of the window, he never wanted to hurt her. Like....he carried her around and wanted to scare her but that what it is. True, him, demanding apologies were out of place, and maybe there is a reason behind it...still, from how he was shocked we could tell he never intended to hurt her. But his pranks were out of place or misunderstood. For me, I still did not forgave him totally, but partialy and in this chapter when he is trying to speak I pity him. I understand rhe FL. Tho, dont understand why she is not trusting her friends or family. Im not expecting her to mary sue, but now she is acting as fake mary sue, without relying to anyone. Also that ML. I am irked by him. This constant feeling of fear is soooo much triggering me. If he did smth else, so FL first would understand fully he is not after her life, it would've been soooooooo much better. Now, I wish FL could rely on others and ML to finally open his eyes. For now i see nooothing good coming from the duke. He is even jealous of her friends! He is not giving a better life in the mansion. She was happier at home.
