I really hate the suspense of waiting after a cliffhanger

Prob not, misunderstandings in shoujos can take 50+ chapters to clear up sometimes ( learned from xp )

I don't think he did. He just pieced together the attack now to bring stabbed the first time.
He's a soldier, so it makes sense he is making those connections quickly.
