well i don't know if they'll change the plot of webtoon but if it follows the novel then the king wouldn't be too much of an ass after a while, even when he knows hes being poisoned by having sex . he isn't overly affectionate like the brother but tones down his asholeness (only for the mc)

tbh i didn't find the king too much of a scumbag, ive read way worse who intentionally go out of their way to hurt mcs but this one is more of a psycho who thinks of others as insects and doesn't care about their lives(except mc latet), it sounds horrible. he didn't mind dying if it meant he could be with the mc(sexually) and was a little apologetic about mc's parents death (way later). mc somehow fell for him and even cut his own horn to save his life but flee away coz of his conflicting emotions and to grieve his mother. later they found themselves together and somehow started cohabiting in mc's hut and kings palace after that. ive only read till there. mc tried to develop feelings for the brother (he fought way too hard to save mc from the kingdom when they got to know abt the toxin) but couldn't love him romantically. the brother even gave mc a new name which was a very emotional scene tbh.

I was suspicious of the brother as well but he turned out to be a good guy who justifiably didn't like his brother and adored the uke, even let him go when he felt that the mc was not happy with him. And the ml is your typical psycho who's an ass at first but he wouldn't be any violent in the current timeline. The assholery is almost over, other than the fact that he wasn't apologetic about killing mc's mother.
Haven't read passion yet but similar to the one in paper flower but like 70% less bad.
