Ok I just made of post of Why I don't like Helena while also making sure to say that that I don't hate because I understand her circumstances. A lot of people have expressed obvious dislike for Helena as well but I want to double back and make sure that most people agree that the REAL TRASH AND VILLAINS are the powerful men- AKA the shitty Crown Prince, right?

I don't like Helena, I don't hate her though. She doesn't seem like a scheming girl but the way she is portrayed and even views herself as helpless causes great strife for me and seriously hinders me from developing any kind of affection for this character.
Based off her on point-of-view, I can only view her as incompetent. While I understand she has ABOSLUTELY ZERO power in refusing the requests of others or combating the abuse of the og Eris, I still can't help see her as compliant and basically having this mood of "oh well, what can I do" despite being fully aware that she is at the center stage that greatly influences not only herself but the treatment of others around her- be it noble girls or lowest servant. It just leaves a really sour taste in my mouth knowing she has a compliant stance along with the fact she's like I'll forgive anything Eris does because I saw her cry... who are you? Virgin Mary? Are you a f*cking moron? Do you not value yourself and therefore are reluctant to stand up for yourself and/or others?
Looking back, these feelings may stem from internalized misogyny that makes women view other women ridiculously harsh because we've been internalize to see other women as rivals and therefore drag eachother down while maintaining or even uplifting the status of men. Maybe plenty of this dislike may stem from the fact that Helena is not the MC, like a lot of people had suggested.
At this point, I just want Helena to escape the grasp of these men-who are obviously taking advantage of their power without acknowledging how the consequences of their decisions may impact Helena herself or others- and live out her life in peace where she would able to have a normal life and have a normal relationship that is more healthy and balanced. I just want a win for the women whose life is pretty much determined by the wheems of men.

I found it interesting that you mentioned internalized misogyny because it made me question why I felt annoyed with her even after this chapter. I believe in some cases you’re right but on the other hand I found that my irritation comes from her weak portrayal. I hate it when the MC has a savior complex and just accepts their fate of being harassed without putting the effort to change the situation; instead helplessly waiting for someone to come to her rescue (in this case the prince and the best friend.)
“Do you not value yourself and therefore reluctant to stand up for yourself and/or others?” This right here. Beautiful. And what I found is that it’s mostly women who are portrayed this way though. Why? No matter how strong willed the FL is it always circulates back to a man. Back to them not being able to defend themselves when it really matters. The reason- at least I think- why everybody is so frustrated by her comes from a hatred towards the misogynistic characteristics Helena’s character portrays. I do completely agree with everything you said though, LET OUR WOMAN FREE

While I mostly read isekais, there is always that one that one thing that makes me just drop my appreciation for the work. This is the blatant nationalism that resembles the author just kissing their own country's ass.
Like, celebrate culture man but don't extend it to the point where it seems supreme or the epitome of cuisine or customs. I find it really cringey when this webtoon essentially implies that korean cuisine is so delicious that everyone will love it and prefer it more than their own culture's food. Let's be real, there is absolutely 0 chance of EVERYONE finding korean or any other culture's food delicious. Different cultures use different spices, methodologies, ingredients which are highly influential of that region's/culture's culinary preference. Take for example Chinese food. While Chinese food is pretty popular in plenty of countries, they taste vastly different depending on which country it is being served at. I can say with a 100% certainty that Chinese food served in China, USA, and Mexico all taste different from each other because the food within that region had adapted to that demographic's preference.
I just find it extremely cringy how the MC is making all these Korean dishes that are prepared vastly different in terms of methodologies and spices that were not heavily used within this European setting and somehow completely enchanted everyone with her cooking to the point where they call her a genius.
This is my own interpretation though so don't go bashing on me please

Obvi homie. There's nothing wrong with sharing, food is both an art and expression of culture of itself. Don't get me wrong, I love series like Isekai Izakaya Nobu and Isekai Shokudou which basically go into the exploration and appreciation of food and sharing it with a different culture. My concern is this implication of it BEING the epitome as it also reflects culture and it possibly implying that culture being superior and so on. This is not a stretch, trust me.

mmmm okay, okay, okay parang yung seme is laging homophobic???, tas yung line na
"I'm not gay I just love him" like what's wrong with being gay, is that it???, and pahabol, ahem, if you would compare sex in yaoi/Bl how accurate is it, and sorry you don't need to answer this if you don't like to but, na try mo na ba makipag sex sa lalaki din?
Goddamn, ch 4 had worried for a while, not gonna lie. But bless Saki's shamelessness and bluntness!
