After reading chapter 54 I went back to look at the first released chapters... I know that with time art can end up changing some features... But... The protagonist was better before...Now as I read I think he's a child... I can't remember how old he is anymore... I also think he has to be fed to grow up so while I read I just think "GOING TO EAT TO GROW!! ". In the old traces it looked like he was a teenager ( 18/19 years old or less ). I know there are a lot of comments saying "if you don't like it, stop reading" but you who think that have to understand that we are saying/writing what we think. I'm continuing to read because I want to see that guy go to jail ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
When It get to this part I'll thank heaven for finally getting what I've been waiting for and depending on what comes next I'll decide if I keep reading ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~

Apparently her soul already had 3 or 4 lives? She was that devil (?) In red that had a twin sister, then a fox? Then she went to another world and finally ended up in her current body. This guy, the emperor (?), seems to be alive since her first life. There are a lot of things that happen in one chapter, it makes me crazy. Where's that guy in red? He did it before and now he's putting together another plan? Sometimes I forget but this current body of hers is how old? 15 or 16? He erased her memories... When she was being tortured at sea (when she was with the mermaid)!? Before she didn't want to marry him, she didn't want to be a concubine, and now she wants to marry him... Was that because he erased her memories!? Σ( ̄□ ̄||)

You can see that the guy is ML. and that in the end they will be together. now from the beginning I didn't like how he treats the MC. Practically on the first date they had a fight. I understand that some of these people are bothering the other and deep down like the person (they doesn't know how to show feelings ?!). I wonder what their relationship will be like when it finally involves romance... For now I'm just seeing this relationship as toxic. That's my opinion. (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

this is a spoiler from a user above in the comments @sweet_shortbread
it basically explains why he treated her like that

SPOILER
There are some clues already in the first book that there is something strange about Lockmann. When they meet for the first time as kids, Nanalie thinks it's a bit disturbing how Lockmann was able to quickly switch gears between smiling brightly and being expressionless.
When Lockmann was little, his magic power was out of control. Lockmann's magic nearly killed his mother at his birth, and continued to be so strong and uncontrolled that the adults around him couldn't keep it contained. Any expression of emotion from Lockmann, whether happy or sad, just caused more outbursts of magic. So Lockmann understood that his emotions were a problem and stopped speaking unless he had to. Dr. Aristo persuaded Lockmann's parents to let him take care of Lockmann. Lockmann's early years were spent isolated in Dr. Aristo's facility, surrounded by power-draining tools. That's how he and Aristo know each other.
This whole experience was very psychologically damaging to him. So that's part of who the real Lockmann is. The self-control is something he's been forced to learn out of necessity. It's mostly just Nanalie who causes him to show strong emotions.
Nanalie seems to be more of a late bloomer, but the fact that her hair and eyes turned blue was a clear sign that her body also carried more magic than such a small vessel could really handle. At that time, Lockmann first thinks to himself he should just leave the matter alone; magic is a struggle, that's just how it is. But then he imagines Nanalie's lonely back being made to leave the classroom and her becoming isolated in a room somewhere. He can't stand the thought of her becoming like him. He thought that he couldn't forgive himself if the smile disappeared from that girl.
That's why he was always fighting with her. Lockmann's fights with Nanalie were meant to provide an emotional/magical outlet for Nanalie to blow off steam through. She spent so much energy fighting him, there was no excess left to overflow. And she never did have any issues controlling her magic. The first and only time she experienced a pestrokraive episode was when she saw Lockmann badly injured at the end of volume 2.
To sum up: Lockmann actually spent all those years trying to save Nanalie from becoming as damaged as himself.

To me it’s not toxic they’re just frienemies they have rivalry and Lockman spend his whole time during school to help control her power (like “hwa” person shared the spoiler about lockman) it’s a funny relationship to me how they just fight and fight and they’re getting along then the next thing they start arguing again
finally (≧∀≦)
