but i like her. the story is just starting and it's not wrong for her to want to shower a kid with love. if they were the villains of the story, they might not have even been fully fleshed out. all she knows is he grew up, like reached adulthood and didnt die, being abused and they probs didnt go into detail about their political situation or assassination plots...which by the way, the other nobles dont even wanna try poison cuz the chide family are experts, so idk why they so gung ho about poison as a possible attack. she wants to treat a neglected kid with love, possibly cuz she was an orphan and shes in a new world and wants something to focus on.
