i thought so, because it didn’t talk about the side characters too much in the webtoon but they’re in just about every episode of the drama
seems like drama need more side characters and more plot (it'll be weird for a drama to focus solely from the leads view only) that's why they added and change some scenes. Plus a drama is very long so they need to replot.
