I think what hits me about this story is, yoonsung's family aren't inherently bad people. The execution was HORRIBLE sure but at the core of it the grandpa. It's because they loved grandpa so much they were willing to do bad things. They're assholes with questionable actions but they're not evil.
The father tho? That guy did all that to get some money out of grandpa or something like that. Whatever the case was, it was out of selfish desires. Then, to lie to ML is one thing, but once they saw him not eating properly, looking traumatized and depressed, they still stayed ignorant still didn’t tell the truth??? Idk, they could b worse, but they’re still p bad imo
But if they had just understood their son, things wouldn't have been this bad.
They were angry that yoonsung risked his life to protect hakyung, so they blamed him. If they just tried to understand how important hakyung must be for him to do that. Even his suicide attempt was because they lied about hakyung's death. Even after all that, they keep blaming hakyung. Just because he comes from a poor background doesn't mean he's a money hungry gold digger. Don't you trust your son's judgement? honestly they're selfish and only care about their own reputation. A part of it could be they couldn't accept yoonsung loving another man. I'll never forgive them. Especially when they offered money to leave yoonsung and didn't even let him meet yoonsung one last time. They knew all too well that hakyung couldn't abandon his mother so to take advantage of that to choose between yoonsung or his mother was truly cruel. I cried so much on that chapter..
