It actually does help. Well, not with every type of sadness, but yeah.
I think it's pretty helpful in this case, cause it DOES relax you and makes it easier to go to sleep.
It takes your mind of the thing that bothers you for a while. To me it is helpful to remind myself that I can feel other things besides the sadness. It is way too easy to get into my own head and forget there is other feeling besides the pain/hurt.
For me - it doesn't solve anything, but it helps a lot.
