Icl I'm literally about to go to bed so I'm relying on memory but ever since she showed up, hints of brainwashing which she was likely doing using the shard was being brought up.

For example when pink haired brother somehow assumed that Penelope was bullying Yvonne and picks a fight randomly evebthough he actually likes Penelope and if you want, you can read from when Yvonne enters the house for more I believe.

I don't blame you because of the rubbish translations tbh. But also Penelope's maid knew of Yvonne's maid from before and so due to her debt towards her, buying poison to then kill her master does not make sense and must've been done due to brainwashing as well. The change in her eyes compared to previous chapters matches both Derrick's and Pink haired brothers eyes from when they are in a dream-like or brainwashed state.

PS: This is all speculation as I haven't read the novel but I personally came to this conclusion and others seem to agree so if you read back and still don't think the same it's A-okay!

? Um... not trying to be rude but did you perhaps read the manhwa with your eyes close or just barely reading the text? I didn't read the novel as well but it was hinting so obviously that she's brainwashing them. It even showed her being a bitch.

Hello as an observer I think it was when you said 'thanks for spoiling' it was obvious sarcasm which when said in this context can be seen as rude after the comic happened to establish the information provided to you as 'basic knowledge' which was introduced to the reader as far back as when kalisto vinsoo and pen were on the island together. Vinsoo reveals the mirror object was dangerous and Splits it apart (Penelope takes one part as an achievement for her quest). And at the same arc it was revealed that the masked woman was the long lost daughter of the dutchy light pink haired girl (forgot her name mb)
Then we see when Penelope visits her bodyguard and then leaves we see light pink haired girl try to brainwash him then complain that it didn't work cause the mirror was split in two (pen has the missing piece which will make it more powerful)
You see later on in the coming of age ceremony, reynold says that he thought pen was going to hit light pink haired girl so he stopped pen cause he saw it in a dream (I thought this was cause in the original game pen did hit her so it was like a revelation of what was supposed to happen but people are saying that the dream is also cause light pink haired girl, could go either way.)
Then it was when you had such short responses commonly reserved for people with an attitude. Therefore your two responses immediately imply you were being a 'bitch' therefore they reciprocated your implied tone
My advice is just to reread the story but only the chapters that have the good translations (I think azure scans was the translator of the good ones)
