All I feel is annoyance. The MC’s attitude is super patronizing lol, “JUST TELL HIM, IT’S HIS LIIIFE”… sigh but then I remember that it’s not a couple that got together through their communicating skills lol but more so a toxic situation that turned into a relationship.

Yeah and MC can’t trust others. The last time he trusted an alpha, his child got forcibly aborted and left him psychologically scarred and disabled.

True, he’s deeply traumatized, when he says he’s trying to protect Taeyoon’s happiness it feels instead that he wants to protect his own happiness. I mean from that dream he had, it’s clear he’s afraid of everything falling apart if Taeyoon learns the truth, that he’d abandon him. As a result, he’s trying to control everything and won’t give Taeyoon the freedom the make his own choices, which when we think about how their relationship started with Taeyoon literally on a leash, confined to MC’s place is just full circle. It could be interesting if it ends up with some real progress, growth and healing for the MC.

Right, to me this looks almost impossible to resolve because of the complex underlying issues. If their relationship was based on love, then I could see it. But it’s more of based on sex, their pheromones bond and a child. It also looked to me like a slight case of Stockholm syndrome for ML mixed with their pheromones bond making him feel like he was falling in love.

And this comment section is the proof of that. Some even see that JJ is wrong but in order to condemn what JJ did they need to make it seem as if both are at fault lol. On a side note I hate how a seme being angry always means no prep even with knowing how much it hurt and that they could injure their partner. I hate the way they use sex as a way to vent their anger and punish the uke because it’s simply violence and in many cases outright rape. People would call it out if they started hitting their partner but since it’s “sex” people give it a pass.

Need i remind people that JJ is the one thay feel unsatisfied with the relationship yet he also the one that chosen not to communicate that dissatisfaction and thus it keep building up.

I think some readers just dislike Leo as a character and have chosen to “side” with JJ so they can’t break out of that mindset. That’s why the best they can do is “ they’re both wrong” after a chapter like this one.

I'll be honest I stuck around because I genuinely fell for Dooshik. Nothing against Jooha but he didn't stand out to me as particularly different from other characters in BL series, personality wise I mean. With Dooshik however I felt like I found a unique and vibrant ML. A bit goofy and silly, getting himself in many embarrassing situations, acting like an easy going f boy with a good heart but actually being someone longing for just that one person for him to love and protect. just a hopeless, almost naive, romantic lover boy. From chestnut boy to host to gangster. He just felt like a chameleon, someone with hidden depth, unfailingly positive and yet thoughtful. I just loved him. Like how many MLs have you seen portrayed seducing older guys as prostitutes? And it was so done very tastefully, it was funny yet charming. And, let's not forget how he's also crazy strong, standing alone after taking down a whole crew, very shonen coded. Ughh, such a departure from the cold, psycho rich type ML with a barely sad back story to justify his bullshit (basically Pilwon). He was a breath of fresh air to me.

Yet my love for him couldn't make all the other issues go unnoticed.

The sides show things remain the same from start to finish, the author clearly has a rape fetish as illustrated by the storyline and the graphic depictions of rape/gang rape they chose to include. 90% of it genuinely felt completely unnecessary and as if it was treated as pure smut. Something for readers to enjoy instead of feeling repulsed by it. Pilwon was treated more as a second ML than a rapist and abuser and a lot of the plot falls flat because it feels there’s genuinely no purpose for all Jooha went through aside from the author wanting to draw those scenes. It feels more like a kink (questionable kink at that but to each their own) than a sincere story about overcoming trauma from forced prostitution and abuse. Basically trauma porn. The pearls kinda lose importance pretty quickly too.

Sigh. With Dooshik, things went downhill with how he somehow was turned into a more typical ML , especially that revenge rape scene and I felt like once again it was back to the kinks taking priority over characterization and plot. Still In a twisted way, I kinda appreciated the revenge Dooshik took, because it added more dimension to his character to see how low he could stoop, how much his character could darken. Also because rapists or pedophiles never ever see retribution in BLs. In many cases they're the love interest and get a happy ending with their victim. Or in other cases it's just brushed off. No one goes to jail or ever get anything coming their way. So it was refreshing to see it in an eye for an eye format. But of course once again way too graphic and it was treated as smut as well and also proved how hard it is for people to enjoy “rape scenes” as it just served to make people feel bad for those guys. And once again Pilwon didn't even get the same treatment like why? Dooshik going “dark” was an interesting plot point that could have given us a solid arc with Jooha wrestling with his trauma and what Dooshik did and also for Dooshik to deal with his own actions and his feelings about what happened to Jooha. But nope.

By the way Pilwon 's character was such a heavy looming presence for most of the story but completely fell flat towards the end. Especially his freak out when Jooha found out the truth (which also wasn't built up properly). If you think hard about it, it kinda made sense but it didn’t have the impact it could have had, had it been done more carefully and addressed in more than passing flashbacks. Also it was completely unnecessary for Jooha to go to Pilwon. I mean I get the reasoning but it felt like such a pointless move that only dragged on the drama. Jooha was with Pilwon so Dooshik had to chase them, fight bla bla, shoot, miss, jump, blabla. Sigh. Not sure when Dooshik would have been released if not for Pilwon but Jooha could have been safe while waiting and Pilwon would have still needed to flee the country. The author just wanted to draw one last rape scene. Or “smut” I guess, since it's clear Pilwon is treated as a second ML and not an abuser, rapist and groomer. Like the way Jooha barely walked in and bam Pilwon had to shove it in, like ughh, just why.

And it’s kinda the same with the sides. I’m enjoying the whole amnesia concept and seeing Dooshik being sweet and Jooha being free from burdens and all but bam, the author was itching for some dubcon play and since there was no Pilwon anymore, Dooshik was pushed into that role. I’m not disgusted with Dooshik. I still love his character and think he’s one of the best ML around with so much potential but I can’t help but roll my eyes at this author and the choices they make but I read through the whole thing well aware of that tho I wouldn’t really recommend this story or rate it high. So many authors act like rape is mandatory but this one really takes it further by putting characters in those extremely disturbing and heartbreaking scenes for the sake of giving readers some “smut” which is just not it for my personal taste.

Like it could have just been a story with Pilwon as a controlling and abusive partner and Dooshik as this guy who falls hard for Jooha and shows Jooha how it feels to be treated right. And Jooha breaking free from his abuse and healing. Pearls not even needed. Dooshik and Jooha's relationship is incredibly sweet and compelling on its own. And it is so entertaining to watch their dynamic. Smh.

It’s interesting people have an issue with both of them sleeping around. Like being promiscuous while not in a relationship is not wrong. Some BL readers have strangely puritain views on some stuff. They hate seeing the main characters having sex with others, especially the ukes. Meanwhile they can enjoy abuse, toxicity and will happily root for rapists. It’s funny to draw the line at “infidelity” and “promiscuity”.

The MCs can both do whatever they want with other people. The only issue is when one party starts to act possessive and territorial and wants to impose things on the other one. You can’t demand things from someone you’re not willing to commit to. It’s egotistical. Especially if you’re happily fucking around as well. I really hope Minchan won’t pull some gender double standards shit about what alphas are allowed to do and I hope our little boxer will call him out.

You're full of wisdom!!! Is so conservative to judge someone being with a lot of ppl. They're not even in an relationship ans they Nevers telles about sleeping with other guys.

In fact, i like when that happens because Is way more realistc. If you are not in love with someone toi have no obligation sleeping only with then, because sex and love aren't the same thing. Talk with other guys and experience other things, new ppl is a pretty healthy way of living your sexual/romantic life. This is not cheating if nothing is agreed, not even a name to the relationship.

If anything I'm happy the uke is sleeping around bc the seme ain't worth nothing. I wouldn't tell a friend to be exclusive w that man and I'm not gonna be mad the uke ain't exclusive w that asshole

To his adult self without any change whatsoever, Hamin will have his hands full trying to teach him a semblance of normality but then again Hamin is apparently drawn to that brand of craziness so it’s a great match.

The current translation is not the worst I’ve seen but for this kind of story I think the subtleties are essential to fully appreciate the story and some of it is unfortunately confusing.like some of the dialogue makes no sense.
