I'm tired of read the people complaining about this not being a yaoi manga, and the most annoying part is... I also like yaoi!!! But this is not yaoi! There are plenty of yaoi manga exactly on this same site, go and read them! You're never going to finish to read them all!! So stop complaining about this not being a yaoi!!!
And I'm also tired about the people hating on the male MC, they took everything so seriously and just like it's trending to be overly sensitive (a crybaby) about the genders stereotypes, people cannot stand him just because he wants to see the girl that he likes looking like a girl. I don't see anything wrong about that, actually is really normal, he also likes when she looks like a boy, and it's not like he's hating that she dresses like a boy (gosh, he started liking her even when he thought that she was a boy), but he hates that she is trying too much to be a guy, like, he doesn't want to see her hurt, but because she wants to be at pair with a boy's strength she pushes herself too much. So he wants to make her understand that she's a girl, and that she can rely on him more. But well, for a lot of people it seems that this is too hard to understand.
Ok, a lot of people are saying a lot of trash about Kyon, that he's the problem that the manga is not "perfect" etc etc etc. But, is he? The ones who said that they love Lucaon are the same ones who said that they hate that Kyon "blushes too quickly like a high school girl", but do you know his age? I'm sure they haven't said his age at this point, and if I have to guess I would say between 18-21, but blushing doesn't have anything to do with age, haha; And if they don't like Kyon because of that, why did they love Lucaon if he raped Kyon? Kyon is not a masochist for all that I have seen (and they are saying he is), he endured the rape... And after that he was crying in his bed because of the pain and the shock, when Lucaon called Kyon to his office he was really scared and he was prepared to run away (that's why he was holding the door-handle), but of course, he feels that he owes his life to Lucaon, because in his mind he's his "saviour", so he's inlove of him and wants to help him, and he basically misunderstood the situation thinking that Lucaon was about to make the same thing than before (that's why he talked about his clothes and how Lucaon can't ripped that clothes because he doesn't have a lot), and you could tell little after that there was a time skip, so that means that Kyon is already used to be treated like trash with the rough and abusive sex, etc... So don't come and tell me that he's a masochist, in my mind this is a lot deeper than that.
Well I think they have the right to dislike Kyon but as you said he is not masochistic, he is in love with the memory of the old Lucaon sho saved him, he feels sympathy, compassion and the desire to do anything he can to help a broken man, he is behaving submissive and loyal to someone who is abusing him but also protecting him which must be confusing as hell, he was traumatissed by his parents murder, desperate for affection, he is naive, young, inexperienced... is he weak or not? that is debatable, but the blushing is well some people bush very easily and he is very pale and he was very innocent so...
so... it's not rare that he blushes so much
That short chapter was like seeing an alternate universe where Chitoge is a boy and she's going to end up with Onodera, lol. Onodera's daughter is awfully similar to her, it's just like seeing Onodera, with the same personality and everything, I don't like that, more originality please? Humans are not a copy&paste of their parents, authors should understand that in order to make good offsprings in the manga/anime world
I agree. It kind of creep me out. I think they should change it cuz its weird.
Waah, I love you Mari-chan, don't be sad. She's my favourite character, I don't care if a lot of people dislike her, she's great, and finally having her backstory is both, wonderful and hurtful, I want to make suffer that boys who were being mean with her and that stupid jerky girls, with their stupid Alpha >:c
I'm just reading this because of Toua, he's the kind of interesting messed up character that intrigue me and I like to read, since I'm kind of fucked up too I sympathise with them (Just like with Shiro in "MODS" and Azusa in "Caste Heaven"). I really dislike characters like Takashi, that wishy-washy characters that you can see in every manga, and he's not that innocent as he seems to be, he went to Jirou place looking for sex, not because he wanted to have a good relationship with Toua, he was just lying, and it's obvious since he didn't put on a fight when Jirou kissed him, he was expecting it (I dislike the characters that act all innocent but they really aren't. I prefer the ones who accept they hideous side instead of hiding it with pretended innocence).
At least that's what I think.
The person who give you the dislike was maybe someone who is involve of that cliché Takahashi guy haha. I get what you're saying, I like broken characters too, I read the mangas that you listed and I loved them, specially "MODS", "Caste Heaven" I liked it but it was really weird that I liked it, it was creepy and I hated all the characters, but Azusa, gosh, I kept reading because of Azusa, just like in this manga I keep reading because of Toua, they're just so interesting! I don't read manga to see the frisking same thing over and over, so seeing characters like Toua is really refreshing ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~
So there for it means that I don't like it, this is probably the last chapter that I'm going to read, but I wanted to understand with myself what I didn't like it...
First, I don't get why he's so inlove with her, yeah sure, she's cute, but he treats her like if she has done something special for him, or like if she was really unique; But she barely speaks, she's always blushing and they had never have a real conversation, I just don't get it.
Second, it feels like "a women fantasy". Thing that I dislike, it's like "50 shades of Grey", they just put in a lot of ideas of what they think a girl would want in order that the reader can think of herself as if she was Risa, and that's something that I don't enjoy, yeah sure, everyone wants romance in their life, but things like this? This is just a delirious farce, but everyone can dream whatever they want to dream about.
Third, there's no real plot. What is the plot? What is the conflict? I feel like this story was meant to be a 5 chapter thing (or a oneshot), and now out of nowhere they are trying to make a little of conflict. For the first 10 chapters I remember this comment section, we where all thinking that he was hiding something, some people was even saying that he could be a murderer hahaha, but we where reacting like that because there was absolutely no reason to why he fell inlove with he at THAT DEGREE, not a crush, he acts really inlove, and because this manga has absolutely no conflict at all, so we weren't seeing the purpose of the plot, it felt (still feels) empty.
And finally, the pace is ridiculously fast. You could have fixed my first three problems and this one specially, if the pace wasn't so freaking fast; The plot could have been about this girl with camp mannerism that starts feeling something for this guy in a cafe and he for her too so they start meeting once in a while until she finds out blah, blah, blah; That's a plot. They could have developed it in order to not feel it like "50 shades", so it would be not a vulgar/cliché "women fantasy", because it could have had a real plot, and not an excuse to show this rich guy giving it all for this girl who he barely knows and that I don't consider her specially beautiful, you know, there are characters that when you see drawn you can't avoid thinking "WOW, she's really beautiful", Risa has never make me think something like that. And if they have met slowly (and make them help each other in some situations, like, you know, with plot) I would get why he's so inlove with her, but no, no, no, no. Like a comment here said:
"This romance would take 1 year development for any of this
To happen in the real world -_-"
- KyokoRM
And that's just true, all the problems with this manga comes from that core.
I'm just going to say that to me, this manga is bad, the only good thing is that the art is decent (but not particularly beautiful). I would recommend this for a light read, but no spect some deep story and character development, because this doesn't have any. This kind of mangas are not my thing so I'm off.
Art: 6 (It's okay, but is not specially beautiful, but is not bad, I repeat is not bad)
Plot: 1 (Plot?)
Enjoyment: 0 (I was just waiting for something to actually happen)
Use of panels: 7 (they have good placement, so it's easy to follow)
Dialogue: 3 (Dialogue? Barely)
Total Rating: 3.4/10
Good Bye people, have a nice day
P.S. Sorry if had bad grammar, I wrote this really fast and english is my third language.
Omg i was thinking the same thing, I didn't feel like there was a plot (too much fluff ). But then again, maybe i just read too much korean mangas and yaois ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
Yeah, you got me, I'm used to read mangas with really deep plot, or even the light hearted ones that I read have a really stablished plot, a point to an end. So this kind of thing without meaning are not my thing. I don't care about the dislikes because the people are blinded by their tastes, they are not going to respect another person opinion even though I wasn't rude, lol.
I have read yaoi mangas that had a lot of sex as their sell point and that mangas even had more plot and conflict than this one, this feels like a surreal fantasy with the only purpose of accomplishing fantasies of lonely women, and I don't read manga because of that, I read manga because I want to know the story of these amazing characters and how their life would be, I don't want to be the character, but well... I don't judge anyone who wants to, I was just making a review haha.
