I think the girl was supposed to be yeon's original soulmate but bc past baby yeon forcefully connected his string to past baby kihoon it was disregarded and now he met the girl who was supposed to be his other half and bc yeon is pursuing kihoon the string that connects him to the girl is fading and erasing his potential relationship with her
