I feel like the emperor is lowkey in love with the empress, and I know alot of ya'll are gonna disagree, but there are just so many moments where he's either remembering how cute the empress was when she was younger or he's getting jealous of her being around other men. I could probably be very wrong he could view her like his little sister or something, but I've just noticed too many times where he seems like he kinda likes her. He's just insanely stupid and just plain old crazy so he's always doing the wrong things. And I also feel like he got Rashta as his concubine just to get her jealous.

When they divorced, and he didn't expect that Navier would ask to remarry--he shocked and absolutely hated the idea of her getting married to another. And he couldn't even let go of her. He was in denial stage and couldn't believe that what he planned, backfired 'for real'. It was already too late when he realized he lost someone precious to him-- he knows that she is precious, but he took advantage of it, thinking that Navier will always and forever be his. HeH.

spoiler, actually he planned to make trasha concubine then ditch her to give the child to Navier. He aims to make trasha empress then after one year get Navier her empress title. The only reason he was doing this is because he thought that Navier is infertile due of the cookies he fed her once they were young. He thought that Navier will never bear a child and so he need a successor. But he never actually thought of letting Navier go so when the empress announce she will get remarried he was furious.

Why not just discuss the matter of successor with the wife? Maybe she would have brought the topic of a surrogate mother herself? Or they would have looked deeper into who is actually infertile. Adoption of a relative has always been an option. For gods sake, it is a world with magic!!!!
I don't really like her husband. But I don't support the fact that she cheated on him. And it can be said that he did the exact same thing. However, I don't support it either way, they both fucked up real bad. If they're so unsatisfied with their marriage to the extent that they both cheat then it would be best to just get divorced or even consider having an open relationship. It's truly just a waste of time. Don't get me wrong I totally ship her with Nina, but personally for me I'd rather they love each other openly, then have to hide it because they're both married. It would make their relationship feel more earned because they resisted temptations of each other till they were able to leave their current marriages. If critism is due in a story with heavy themes, where the themes are romanticised, then I believe that people should give it. I mainly agree with the people who are saying it's just a fiction and it should not be connected with reality in anyway, however if people disagree and they don't like the themes, I believe they have every right to state their opinion, despite it contradicting with the obvious majority on this site. Even if it's a fiction it doesn't make the themes going on in the story alright to everyone reading it, everyone is going to feel different about certain things. We shouldn't just get angry at others for not liking rape and incest? Which should be the normal reaction towards those themes despite the circumstance. The same way some of us here have the right to like the rape and incest in this FICTIONAL story, which is fine as long as you're not practising it in real life, others should also have the right to dislike it and talk about why they dislike it. Don't get butthurt if others don't like twisted themes like you probably do.
