I just came from watching the anime hoping to see more chapters #-.-). Oh well, I really recommend the anime if or people who read too quickly, not to mention the soundtrack and voice action- as well as animation and background are all a work of art. It was truly a storybook come to life- I even cried at the end because of how wholesome everything felt, huhu.

This manhwa would've been a lot better if they just fleshed out the details more. There's heart to this, and potential but everytime something comes out it feels like it is from nowhere- it and works only some of the time.
Spoilers
For example the scene with the 3rd prince and him taking out the paper heart that the original peony made- worked and admittedly cried, but like where did that come from? Wouldve been better to maybe mention he always carries a chest with him or a short flashback when he was reminiscing about his sweet naive sister, it would have hot harder.
For the times it didn't work- well most of the story is just that. Like the original main characters, gets lots and lots of exposition but doesn't appear at all and is suddenly close to the main characters- same with the fl relationship with the 3 commanders or something. And the 2nd prince, we are told he's evil and smart but from what little time screen he had he's just dumb and already is defeated…
I think they could've cut down all the would be remember be, and the multiple proposals and just have those scenes intermingle with them fleshing out the story, maybe the novel is better.
Do I have other problems with this manhwa? Yes, did I read it and enjoy it all- yes. I will wait til this finishes to read it again, also way to late to string any coherent reviews so if you read all of this I give you some lemon candy.

I get it if you see this manga as weird and all that and not read it but really don't have to broadcast it to the whole world.
For one, no one is condoning the actions of any of the characters in the manga, maybe it’s just interesting to read a stories about morally complex characters- even if the moral is like pitch black.
Another thing about the Mc using the memory of the child version of the dude to masturbate. Did I like it, nope not at all but I’m pretty sure that’s just how he deals with his trauma, don’t think it has anything to do with pedophilia. Especially when all the actions of the child was drenched in violence and humiliation being made to the mc or someone else. Did the adult version give him any? Considering they’ve just had their reunion I doubt they’ve been in contact.
Also what does he do when a student who had issues with suicide come to him? Sleep with her. I don’t agree or think that any of his actions are right at all, in fact ew, but it does in my opinion solidify my conclusion on the reason for why he does what he does(even if in his mind he was taking advice from someone else). Of course there are multiple interpretations of his behaviour and I could be wrong but immediately categorising it as pedophilic and disgusting- and then shaming people who read it is just...
In my opinion if you don't like it you don't have to read it, no one is forcing you to. Especially when this is tagged with psychological, horror, and seinen all of which is a combination for a bad time so maybe read the tags even if a famous author (of a pretty fucked up manga) recommended it.
And for those who complained about it not having enough “Yaoi” even if it was tagged as such… I- stop complaining and go read the countless other manhwa or manga on this site. Speaking as someone who sometimes reads it as well, there's really no need to be complaining in the comment section. Its one thing to be unashamed and another to be tone-death.
Coming from watching the anime to reading the manga was quite jarring. The anime really doesn’t do the story justice- it would be close since it is accurate with the art style and practically everything else, but it changes key story elements, lessening the brutal stuff that happens and makes weird changes. Make sense why there was no season 3. Sigh, it’s a shame.
Tho understandable since they probably intented for it to be for younger audiences, whereas all the death blood and gore all wouldn't be appropriate no matter now off screen it was (not so much the blood, that was def all on-screen).
Would recommend people who comes from watching it to just start from the beginning just because how different they are in terms of story. Its like an au with all your favourite characters lol. Think this would be popular if it gets readapted because of how popular “dark” shonen is rn.
