Season 1: Was pretty standard, i wasn't necessarily engrossed into the the story, but for me, it was,,,meh. Very average.
And S1 could have ended there. But Season 2 happens, and it divulges into an entirely different theme.
Season 2: What can I say, I absolutely hated it. Ok first of all, I wouldn't say I'm an expert on Dissociative Identity Disorder (Multiple Personality disorder if you will), but this portrayal of it,,,,whew, not good at all.
First of all, DID, is caused by extreme trauma, thats the brains way of protecting the person from that trauma theyve experienced. So usually alters are there to PROTECT the actual person. In this case, I'm guessing Gabriel is supposed to be that person, and Raphael was the one that came to be. But raphael seems so against gabriel, especially in the end likE BRO, THATS PRETTY F-ED UP AND SCARY.
Oh but, I get it, it's just a webtoon, it's fiction, doesn't need to be accurate, totally fine with that, but let's talk about colin, shall we?
At first i felt sorry for him, but by the end of it, he became such an unlikeable character I was genuinely mad at him? Like, he literally finds out that his bestfriend/crush has "split personality" and has been manipulating him all along and all he thinks about is getting revenge?????? Huh??, like sure, being manipulative is f-ed up, but when you put that, plus the DID, im pretty sure you can come up with the conclusion that your friend genuinely needs medical/professional help. But no, Colin insists on "Revenge". Colin's reaction is just so,,,,,,,stupid?
Also The whole side theme of that book and the devil was just annoying for this story, and seemed only useful at the end, but like, the hell was that ending??? It seemed like it just dismissed everything that happened all of a sudden. It felt, at least to me, that all the events that happened prior, was just for nothing? Colin didnt even seem phased that Gabriel had DID, seemed like he didn't learn anything, AND FREAKING GABRIEL LEFT ? ? AND RAPHAEL TOOK OVER COS THE DEVIL TOOK GABRIEL WYEJFHWJ WTF, ITS SO DUMB??? I think it would have been better if the devil dude just made Gabriel/Raphael have amnesia, would have made sense-ish, but like the fact raphael was thereāit just, its kinda of crappy ending. There were so many plotholes i was so confused at some points.
Very confusing and bad portrayal of DID (MPD), not even a likeable one. Maybe if they took out the DID from the story and focused on the manipulative aspect of gabriel, it might have made more sense.
But of course these are all my opinionssss, please dont get offended cos the last thing i want is an agressive argument aha
Overall: they could have just made these stories separately and not include that "Magical Book" theme too it, cos it's just dumb to be honest. The Art style was pretty good, but Overall
man, felt like I was in english class reading my essays. well I kinda enjoyed reading this and it gave me a more understanding since the second story really was confusing and weird to me i don't why, the whole revenge on revenge is weird.
