He also is making allowances for seme because he knows he lied to him. And when mc starts to flake later on in the story, thats ok too! Ml took awhile to think it through but mc jumped into it because of how much he liked him and so became insecure and had to grow confidence. They a good match and I love them (づ￣ ³￣)づ
