There’s a lot of Chinese novels with this theme. Apparently a substitute is a trope in Chinese fiction. I just realized this is the manhwa of a novel I’m currently reading on chrysanthemum garden. If you like novels I could prob recommend a few but I’d have to look.

There’s professional body double. Just go to novel updates (mango is weird about links) & search for the before mentioned title. There’s also Dressed as a Stand-in for the White Moonlight. There’s a bunch more but I’ll have to try and find them. The novel for this manhwa is -After the Stand-in Shou Faked His Death. There’s also a short story that was then turned into a full length novel about a guy who gets hired as a substitute for the white moonlight but who sees it as a job and demands benefits & working hrs. (It pisses the gong off.) It’s funny but I’m totally blanking on the name. There’s another one where the white moodlight steals the substitute from the guy who’s in love with him.There’s also a bunch of BG ones but I’m not a fan of het Chinese novels. I like the Korean ones sometimes but I struggle with the Chinese ones. If I think of anymore I’ll come back and put them here. I highly recommend the novel to this manhwa bc it’s really good. It’s at about 135 chapters translated but I think it only needs 20 more to be complete. I thought someone would have made a list of substitute novels on novel updates but while there are plenty of wife chasing crematoriums (my fav of that category are flying ash & sissy), but no substitute list I saw.

No prob. If you like regret novels look up flying ash & look at the lists ppl made that have it. Also if you haven’t seen the manhwa “beyond memories”, it’s great. It’s like you get the regret story w/o having to slog through chapter after chapter of abuse

Yes Sissy!! I love sissy. It’s got depth that a lot of Chinese novels lack. Unfortunately a lot of ppl don’t get how good it is. They see the MC as weak bc he’s physically weak not realizing it’s his mental strength that makes him stronger than the ML. Like the ML was in love with the MC but let peer pressure & social expectations make him a total dick to him. The MC was a bit of a pushover, but only when he belived in the ML and his feelings. As soon as he realized he was being played with he cut him off & nothing the ML did or said could sway him. He didn’t let societal expectations guide him from the beginning. It required not just an apology from the ML, but he also had to show with his actions that he’d changed. I love that. It’s such a good novel and I wish ppl didn’t judge the MC so harshly bc having mental strength is harder than having physical strength. Anyways I’ve read it twice even tho it’s annoying bc you have to read on google docs.
