The video is also (probably) against MC. Why? He mentions the "video" numerous of times as an alibi but we (the audience) do not know the context of the video or where the location is. The prosecutor and investigators seen it yet still ask the same questions. Why?
Because the video doesn't line up with MC. If MC is innocent, then they would've let him go since the video is aligned with his statement (or lack there of). Even ML is asking the same questions and he (kind of) know MC personally.
ML has seen uncomfortable things as well as done uncomfortable things, but maybe this was something that was beyond his level of comfort. What I got from the writing, we the audience would have been given context if that were the case, but we weren't. Obviously, we know he's the victim but that's because we followed him. MC, you're making this difficult. ML, I have mix emotions but I do get what you're doing. Though everything is off, you still need something to go back with. ML tried keeping it professional by asking the same paper questions until he overstepped.

It looks someone has reached a "critical point", pun intended. I did find it interesting how his consciousness began arguing with each other as if his true common sense is coming out. He usually shut himself down and only made his mind fixate on one thing. So it's good to see he's letting actual thoughts roam his mind.

Also, nothing's wrong with judging the MCs actions. I also think he's a bit if slut. I know something is up, but there could also be nothing. It's like the Joker; He obviously went through something but we don't know and he doesn't care. Doesn't excuse his crimes.

Also this entire episode, he didn't really raise his voice. He spoke to Danny. When Danny refused the offer, he didn't lose his shit and threw a fit, he asked him if it's because of his grandmother is a calm tone (based on the bubble). JJK giving him the offer isn't "lets go back to status quo", it's "Hey, you're still not financially stable to handle everything and I can give you stability if you back with me. Let me help you." But Dan no longer wants only financial stability as he wants love as well, something JJK isn't completely ready to give. Him not explaining why he's there and how is him trying to not to come off as creepy (since Dan didn't know JJK was looking for him) and playing it off as a coincidence. ┑(￣Д ￣)┍
Last note, the old JJK would've just been rough with Danny and demanded he'd return and "belittle" his achievements to make him submit, but this time, he only offers financial (and subtle emotional) stability and doesn't really do anything other than encourage him to continue his bedrest.
