The author called the “not new person” a guy in her tweet… yeah she also used the word for a granddaughter but I think that’s a typo because she later tweets about him again and refers to him as a “he”.

I'm pretty sure when Taeju and his family went to fight the kidnappers, Taeju's aunty made a deal with an old lady and the old lady said they can support Taeju through marriage. Taeju's aunt was so happy because she arranged Wonyoung's marriage with the old lady's granddaughter (the cute red head from ch 41) and Wonyoung was crying that she wasn't her type and that it was karma for interfering with Taeju's love life.
