She was abused. Most abuses people think they deserve that kind of treatment, as for him yes I agree he knows somethings wrong but is not addressing it.
On the flip side she's not talking either and he doesn't know of the abuse, he DID try to talk and she stonewalled him so he stalked her home. This is a all around total lack of communication.
