Idc abt the cheating (though it could maybe be interpreted as an open relationship thing? Idk but also idc with this story) but it's the fact that they keep going out with guys even though they find much more happiness with one another and just should date each other that makes me feel kinda sad honestly?
Not necessarily a fault with the story, I am a 100% self-projecting with this because I saw similarities in their relationship in the relationship I have with my gf so all this time I was like BRO JUST GET TOGETHER, BE HAPPY AND ABANDON THESE STUPID MEN DAMNIT
I'm just gonna interpret that they did get together in the end for my own sanity because they deserve it, they deserve to treat each other right.

Yknow any of this would have been more impactful weren't all the "happy" scenes mostly sex scenes.
You can build romance with a relationship that starts out as purely sexual but Jinx ain't it I just do not buy their chemistry at all. Odd comparision but it feels like those harem anime where the girls are into the mc because he was nice to them once. There is just nothing else to it, it tries to convince that they both have potentially good chemistry and them falling in love with each other is so believable when it really isn't?
Just think about it for a second, can you recall any scenes of proper chemistry where they are geniunly enjoyable to read that didn't include smut? And Jinx isn't exclusive to this ofc but it is huge within the BL community rn and I think a conversation should be opened about this.

I 100% agree. Even in other BLs where a majority of their interactions are sexual, I can usually imagine them as domestic partners that can genuinely care for each other outside of sex, but in Jinx’s case I can’t see it at all. The power dynamic is too great and Jaekyung seems far removed from his mental and emotional capacity to treat others as equals, much less affectionately.
Also, unpopular opinion but I don’t think they even have much sexual chemistry their sex scenes are difficult to enjoy

I will preface by saying that the prior artist can rot. It's good they got replave and I am purely going to talk abt the art style seperated from the artist.
I think the reason a lot of people heavily dislike the art style is because it emphasizes much more on trying to look aesthetically pleasing just like almost every other BL. And there is nothing wrong with this type of style, it functions, it looks fine but what it misses is it's own identity, it's own style. And this is where the prior art style came in because it was oozing with it's own style and did something more unique than a lot of other BL manhwas. (Which isn't to say there isn't a good amount of BL manhwa with an unique style but in comparision to the more aesthetic ones they r rlly in the minority)
Emotions, movements, etc. were composited in a very different and more interesting way than you'd see in a usual more "aesthetic" BL.
While I don't hate this new art style, I think it's weaker in terms in illustrating and setting apart the story, in comparision to the old one.
I think the new art doesn't deserve hate but I get why some people are frustrated over this change.
I am curious about all of your opinions though :3

i totally agree with how the new art style completely changed to be the same style as any other manhwa bl because i loved the old one so much that i felt like it added more to the story other than the amazing plot, u could say i was jumpscared… it felt like they wanted to be more appealing to the bl commjnity and that resulted in losing their own artistic identity

I don't think it's that deep, the new artist (or team) just doesn't have enough experience yet to form a strong artistic sense of style or make vocational judgement. That's something that takes decades to master. They're inexperienced but still putting in the effort to remain proportionally consistent, and that's really all we can ask for right now.
But definitely, in a few years, I imagine they'll get better at their craft if they keep at it, since the fundamentals seem to be there.
Basically I'm just saying they're still a new to intermediate artist compared to the last one.

That is deffo the case too (hell I am an artist with a very inconsistent artstyle so ik the struggle) but even then, it still looks like your usual BL manhwa that doesn't stand out from the crowd. If it had looked like this from the begining I think less people would be frustrated about it than the kinda glaring art style change that happened instead because it just made so many people realize the way the art style enhanced the story.

I agree. I feel like for this new art style, the characters feel very stiff, thus making their relationship seem stiff, plain, almost predictable and boring. The whole scenes were supposed to be super intense with lots of emotion, but it wasn't there because of the new art I feel.
I love the story though. I read from when it last ended to the end of the extras of the novel and it was so good and angsty. So the art definitely missed the mark. But it's okay, I'm glad we got it at least!
This is what happens when you go to a hello kitty girl's place
(For legal reasons this is a joke)
