It’s so clear from the content of this manga that it was written by a heterosexual man whose biggest dream is too have multiple wives to suck is micro penis...like I’m not judging polyamory do you sis... but this is rubbish he treats his wives like rubbish and is incredibly greedy, I started to give up on this manga after the baby arc like are we all just going to sit and pretend that that child is actually his I would have preferred it if the second wife just left with her old dude I prefer him to be quite honest.
The story is decent but I don’t like the authors take on what is beautiful I’m older and know better so this type of writing wouldn’t affect me as much as it would a young teenage girl. 1) why for the FL must she loose weight and straighten hair her to be seen at beautiful she was already skinny and I liked her curly hair a lot, this is the second work form the author I have seen an I am quite disappointed. Her personal views on body image are very apparent in her work believing that a woman has to be unnecessarily skinny to main in her webtoons.
In societies such as Korea or India, everybody from your parents, relatives, distant relatives, to people on the street, seem to be obsessed with your physical appearance. Did you get skinnier? Are you prettier? In addition, it is not uncommon to blatantly treat people differently based on physical appearance. This is not to say western societies are high and mighty and above this. People have an inherent bias towards trusting beautiful people and treating them better.
Stories like this one acknowledge this not ideal culture. The fact that our main character does not fit the norm, is evidence that the author believes that people have worth outside of that norm. Yes, our main character enjoys conforming to society's beauty standards but it makes sense to enjoy something that makes other people treat you better. However, aspects of her core personality, such as her diligence to her work, that made her admirable - were present even before the physical changes. The physical changes were just the catalyst that made people see her differently.
I don't know how this will end so don't take my word.
It would be so much better if she, after losing the effects of the medicine, she would come back to her original form, and start from there, like, she could learn to style her curly hair, she could try different glasses frames (the one she was using is cute enough imo) and you know, she could lose weight the old traditional way, having a skin care routine along with hair care.
But the general message is so.. uh? So far, lame, I like the story and the character alright, is the clear views of the author that is icky, no matter how much the ML says she was already beautiful from the start it doesn't matter because he never sees her like that again, and so it does come across as lip service for the fans, in order to not see him as a superficial jerk, rather than be an actual take on beauty standards.
The only work that I remember made this right is "Gangam Beauty" check it out if you have time if you haven't yet.
Aside all that, am I crazy or every time we see a flashback of her old self she is much fatter that she was the first time we see her?
I feel like stalking of celebrities particularly in Asia is to normalized, u can’t just write it of as harmless if they haven’t physically attacked the celebrity yet. People need to realize that these people have lives of their own, if they want to date, drink or have casual flings with people that is non of our business they are simply here to sell us music not to be your replacement lovers.
Everybody but Hari need a doctor..Ml is getting better.
