I am not sure but I have heard that it will take a long time to know that she was being abused by her father.
so far the novel translation hasn’t even reached that point yet, unfortunately it’s VERY far into the story when he finally finds out. i can’t even imagine when the manhwa will get there :(( however from the spoilers i’ve read, riftan is really upset and nearly kills her father when he finds out, because he basically catches him in the act.

Next chapter we see what happened to August, then dinner resumes in the chapter after that. There will be a new love interest for Shavonne, and we'll see how Lewellyn and Shavonne met 8 years ago in prison. Shavonne just doesn't remember for whatever reason, but the flashback has a heavy plot and is around 10 chapters long so...

Basically Lewellyn was physically abused in prison, beaten up and whatnot. Shavonne was his comfort. His backstory is going to be a tear-jerker for sure. We'll all hold hands while we cry for him together ┗( T﹏T )┛
Y'all, I did some research and now I feel bad for thinking his nails are crusty because they ended up like that from people repeadily stepping and breaking his hands, his nails getting continuously grown off, and/or from getting something stuck up your nail bed
