I have such mixed feelings. I'm really interested in the plot going on behind the scenes and all that. I think the kid is adorable. But I don't like Ray. Being a bitch is one thing, but it just irritates me that his only function is to make the bodyguard uncomfortably horny rn. Like, how rude. It's hard to communicate, but I just wish he was a smarter more cunning villain. His only function rn is porn and it's just annoying especially because I want the bodyguard and guy's true personality to fall in love!
Chapter 46 is missing. What's chapter 46 here is actually chapter 47 on Lezhin. Chapter 47 here is chapter 48. This webtoon is completed (other than the missing chapter 46). So here's what happens in the real chapter 46:
- all the Hyunjins left are arguing and fist fighting with their opposites, basically saying "You aren't needed." Doyoung watches in horror, unable to stop them. The purple one is the only one not arguing with an opposite. Instead, he is confessing his love and insecurities to another Doyoung. That Doyoung rejects him and the purple Hyunjin collapses to his knees crying. The real Doyeong cries as well saying, I told you I love and accept all your sides. The chapter ends back in purple's room and shows his feet hanging.
Here I thought I was going to get a revolutionary manga about non-binary gender identity. I thought of writing a book with the premise myself, but he person would choose to be non-binary and genderless at the end. But boy am I pissed with this. It looks like another one of those You Can Only Like the Opposite Sex genderbenders. These teens acting like sexual orientation is influenced by gender identity. I do like that Hinase is canon asexual. But these stories always end up encouraging heteronormativity. When the girl corrected herself and said she didn't care about gender, I was like, "Choose her!" But then she retracted her statement because she didn't want to lose?? That punk ass Shiori, wtf is his problem? So fucking selfish and forceful. He's so toxic. The only way I can forgive Shiori is if he's gay and has internalized homophobia and wants to be "normal" and that's why he's so insistent on Hinase becoming a girl. Still selfish, but at least there's some depth.
In any case, I'll wait until this is complete and find out what happened. My hope is that Hinase says fxxx y'all and lives their truth, becoming an old genderless person who defeats all odds.
Honestly same here.... I was hoping for a non-binary person who accepts themself at the end and they date the girl or the boy after they realises their true self... I'm a little bit disappointed that the manga makes it necessary for one girl and one boy in a relationship. As a pansexual, if a girl told me to be a boy for her, I would be absolutely heartbroken.
the fact that all nb die before they're 20... and the mc's friends are making them choose their gender to be the opposite of the person they like..... this manga rly took a seemingly gender-breaking premise and turned it into the most black and white, heteronormative shit lmao
