omg this such a intense but amazing story, i tried to read this before but i dropped it after 15 chapters because i thought their relationship wouldn’t go anywhere but i was so wrong. so sad we will never see them again :’)

Idk the answer fr but my guess would be that he knew the emporer (first ml) was gonna g-cide that village and that created the perfect opportunity to make the mc completely isolated once and for all so that like you said he’d have no one else to rely on.
