If Juheon was the MC, he'd be the pitiful kind. Shitty ass family, everyone trying to use you, having to mask your emotions all the time, your mom-aunt blackmailing you, your grandassdad hurling things at you making you bleed. And if we didn't have Dohu's POV, he'd be a glaring red flag, practically stalking you when he wants to, but then taking your words literally to the point he doesn't make much effort to correct things, like he could've deleted the draft forever ago. I understand Dohu more because he reminds me of me, and it's precisely because of that that I think he needs to work on his behavior, I understand why he is the way he is and it's not intentionally his fault but as someone who has been in his position, it's good to know how our behavior can affect other people, especially those close to us. Their relationship started because of Dohu but their romantic relationship rested mostly on Juheon's efforts. Like if this was an Omegaverse, Juheon would've gotten pregnant and ran away with the child lmao
Both of them have their issues, I think the time skip was warranted, I'm usually averse to it but it doesn't bother me here for some reason, even if I think 4 years is too much. Juheon said that his heart wants to stay but he knows the relationship would get more toxic because he would feel like he was at someone else's mercy, vying for affection if he stayed, something he absolutely detests, so I think he needs space. And Dohu needs time to realize the intensity and sincerity of his own feelings. I wonder how this will go, but I know the shitty aunt will show up because she was blackmailing Juheon with a picture of Dohu.
