Protect at all costs. ALSO!! THE ART!!
I dont know where to start with this. I love the way harada uses one pairing to portray pedophilia in its realistic, sick, disgusting way, but at the same time the struggles of same-sex relationships in the eyes of society. Their relationship is disturbing and not healthy in any way but also acts as a mirror for the readers, who automatically think about all of this story as 'abnormal' (which im not saying it isnt). I also love how kei's backstory is not used to give excuses for his behaviour, but still serves as an explanation in some way. I love their expressions, that are just dripping with madness and so, so pitiful. Really, this gave me so much to think about. At the beginning I didn't even think I would be able to continue reading it, seeing an adult try to have sex with a probably five-year old. It's just sick and its disturbing, but harada does not hesitate to show those scenes in detail, to draw every little thing, as hard as it may be to look at, and thats probably what makes it such a fantastic read. This author generally has a great ability for things like that. Although sometimes I find nyself wishing for something fluffy from her, because the contrast between her gorgeously beautiful art and the dark, ugly themes her works deal with is so huge. Though that is probably also a factor that makes her such a unique and amazing artist. Aah I will probably be thinking about this for weeks to come. Harada's works are truly something else.
How come i only come up with two sentences in exams about whole books we read in school but i can write a fifteen page essay about harada's works huh
