I’m not sure why people hate the ending. If you actually paid attention to the story you could tell it was going to end up this way. If you do read this try to seperate the past actions of the male lead and his current actions. Think of them as two total different people because the author hints several times that he’s being blamed for actions he hasn’t committed.
