I think it’s probably because someone uploaded a chapter or the mangago bot did. But since the officials were announced, no fan translations are allowed to be uploaded over it. It’s frustrating but unfortunately it’s a rule between translators and just the site’s rule too :(

Honestly I don’t know it all depends on the stories. Sometimes the fan translators will just abandon it and sometimes they won’t. Usually when fan translations are uploaded alongside the officials, it’s just the mangago bot

yea it’s a bot sometimes, but it’s defo not a definite rule that scantalations have to be dropped after officials are uploaded LMFAO

Yeah it’s probably not a rule but they usually still drop the series because the one uploading the officials will ask to not be uploaded over, hence why they also use placeholders so that even the bot can’t upload over them

Sorry to butt in but I think you are spreading misinformation here. There is no such rule and I personally wouldn't even say that "translators usually drop the series". What I've seen was that fantranslations drop the work when officials catch up early when the series hasn't been going on for that long. But I have seen serieses where both were being uploaded simultaneously until the end.
As far as I remember, I have also not seen anyone who uploads officials to ask fantranslations to not upload over them, instead they ask others not to upload the officials over them. Or when it is an independent fantranslator of a niche series, they tend to ask others not to take over what they are working on.

Like I am sorry, I don't mean this as an attack on you I just think you make it sound like you are stating facts while I disagree with a lot of what you say.

omg I do the same thing! but I've been scammed with notices and announcements and "Christmas bonus art" too many times so now when I check my new chapter notifications, I always check the comic to see if it's a real update before I choose which order to read the comics in

I’m sorry but I never said that whatever I was stating were facts tho ?? Someone corrected me and I stated that I "honestly don’t know", I also use words like "probably, usually" because I know that what I’m saying is not a general truth or facts. I was mostly just talking from my experience with some manhwas or stories on mangago, I only spread misinformation from my og comment but my other comments were not meant to be taken factually at all ?
