I haven't come out yet lmao but let's just hope for the best that she'll accept you. It takes time for them to process it but I don't think that it's appropriate to say the words that your mom told you about your gf.

I was 11 and I wrote my feelings down in my notes on my phone for a girl I liked and my little sister saw it, took my phone and showed everyone. I was hella embarrassed but my whole family just went on with life now that Im older tho I asked my mom about it and she said she knew I liked girls since before I was in school, said I reacted more to women than men when I was a baby lol

It was really scary for me. I didn’t accept that I was gay until I was 16-17. My parents are catholic, but not homophobic. They always made comments that they didn’t care what gay people did that love is love no matter what, but they would also say that they were glad I wasn’t gay.

Haha when I came out they were shocked but accepted me immediately. I always felt kinda bad for them since they were so set on believing that I was gay, but luckily they were very accepting.

I have four other sibling who are straight anyways so they didn’t mind too much ahah.

i think u should take it lightheartedly. i think most of the time, the tension there is surrounding the conversation of coming out is whats causing doubt to erupt. im not saying dont take it seriously, but what im saying is to go with the flow and show them that contentment u found in ur gf. rather than being nervous, be confident enough to show how happy u are with how u identify with and who ure with. u dont owe anyone an explanation of who u are anyway, not even ur parents, because its urs. coming out is just an act of informing, and people can either take it or leave it, its jot ur responsibility to please them.

im pretty sure that if u let ur parents feel ur joy and love, there wont be any problem(ʘᴗʘ✿)

i actually came out last month without realising it! my older cousin keep asking me if im lesbian bc of my haircut. i have boy cut, btw. then, i cant say anything bc im really confused between bi and lesbian. so i jist answered them, "ahm, i just dont find boys attractive anymore. but fictional character does" then, yea. btw, my WHOLE family was there and they just laugh and keep teasing me. i think my mom accepted me bc she was lesbian before she met my dad, yea. that's it. u can do it, bestie! goodluck <33

I don’t know if any of you will see this, but i did it! I told my sister and my parents that i have a girlfriend. It was in a restaurant and they were a little bit surprised. My father and sister is super supportive, so they didn’t have a problem with it. And my mom... she needs some time i guess. But overall i think it went well.
